A Great book.
A great book. Giving the legends and lore of different cultures around the world was very interesting. All cultures have the elements of the flood story in Genesis, but none agreed with the biblical account fully. If you study Scripture and teach, this book will add to your knowledge of biblical history.

Great for Young, Old, and In Between
This was a book I had been waiting for and didn't even know it! Once I got it, I purchased several more to give to people. It is perfect for young and old alike. Several interactive features for young people, excellent research and historical evidence for adults. As a long time public school history teacher, I highly recommend it.

Really Great Resource
About the Book:Cultural accounts of a wicked world, destroyed by a global flood, have been relegated to myth - even the history of Noah's ark revealed in the Bible. Yet, in every corner of the world, you find these legends of a vastly destructive, worldwide flood event. Similarities include: mankind is almost wiped out, some animals are chosen for survival, a craft or other escape mechanism is provided for survival, and water covers everything. Now discover:*What are these legends, and what intriguing clues do they contain?*Why do they reveal about their possible common origin?*Even more great details with this interactive experience of flaps, mini-books, foldouts, and more! For over a hundred years, scientists have been dismissing theBible as a reliable source of information - despite the civilizationsdiscovered and history revealed that support the history God's Word contains.About the Authors:Laura Welch has worked in the Christian book publishing industry for almost 12 years, currently serving as editor-in-chief of New Leaf Publishing Group.Bodie Hodge has been a speaker, writer, contributor, and researcher for Answers in Genesis since 2003. He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC) and received a BS and MS in mechanical engineering. My Review: Everyone believes they know the story of Noah and the great flood that God descended down among His creation. something that destroyed all of God's children that were misbehaving all but the ones that were abiding by God's word---Noah and his family. Not only do many believers read and know of this mighty act of God, there are many other legends and folk lore throughout history that have referenced this great act of correction. The Flood of Noah: Legends&Lore of Survival, is full of all kinds of interesting and in-depth information. The authors have researched and collected this information to give you a final synopsis on all things flood-like. Complete with pull outs, fold outs, and many other neat things---this book is a fully functional interactive book. This very large book, but contains very knowledgeable information that to me just proves that the Bible is a true account how anyone ever doubts it is beyond me. And judging by some of the beliefs of other people and religions it seems that they believed in in some for or fashion as well. This book has 24 pages and is a book that could be used for upper elementary school aged children but could be read and explained to younger elementary students. It is published by Master Books and if you would like to learn more about the book you can go to this link. The price of this very informative book is $14.99. My boys and I used the book to gain further knowledge on Noah, the Flood and what others aid or believed in concerning this mass event. We were unaware just how far this all expanded and how many generations believed the same. Even though many of them do not believe exactly as Christians do, it is great knowing how much of an influence God has over so many.**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from Moms of Master Books review group.

The Flood
The Flood of Noah is a wonderful, interactive book capturing the interest of all ages. The colorful pages are full of historical data that combine legends of the flood from across the world and through many cultures. Looney did a phenomenal job at illustrating with a variety of technique. Readers who especially enjoy visually perceptive works will find this text a joy. Hodge and Welch use multiple references to compile the information for lessons in science, history and bible in many formats. I truly enjoyed flipping through the pages, pulling on the tabs, spinning the wheels, and taking in all the beautiful pictures. I know my students will as well. The comparison of flood legends is important information to be visited as it confirms much of the biblical account of the story itself. Throughout time and countries Noah’s ark has been named by several cultural groups and although the accounts are not exactly the same, they are very similar indeed. Hodge and Welch include a list of names used to describe Noah and his story across cultures. They also have a table referring to his wife included. Students of the flood can flip through pages of historical accounts, maps, illustrations, and charts describing the details in countries like Africa, Lithuania, Mexico, Australia, and Greece. At the end of the book Hodge and Welch share the message of salvation. An educational piece of work that can be used by parents and teachers alike, this book is very interesting, to say the least. To those who are familiar with Noah’s and his story, there is a sense of amazement at the reality of the recognition this account gets all around the world.Master Books has provided me with a copy of The Flood of Noah in return for my honest review.

Disappointing
Hugely disappointed in this, it's probably my fault for not paying more attention to description. It's a strange book not particularly good for kids and a bit too simple for adults. The extra bits stuck on pages seem strange. Wish i hadn't bought it.
