The Human Body Book

The Human Body 2nd Edition was published in February 2013 as an update to the 6 year old original. Amazon.com reviews of the 1st edition were consistently positive with more than 86% 5-stars. In the two month since publication, there are still no reviews on the 2nd edition, but all the good features described in previous reviews should still apply and the new edition can only be described as fantastic.This is a large format book (10" x 12") with large, detailed, color 2D/3D illustrations and photos of all the human body systems, structure and organs. Descriptions of the various topics are detailed without being too wordy or the use of excessive complex medical jargon. This book should be perfect for anyone that just wants to understand what is going on inside their body or even students in beginning anatomy classes. The included DVD-ROM (Not a Video DVD) is also great, with interactive overviews of body structures using multi-level 3D illustrations and detailed descriptions by simply mousing-over the area of interest. Unfortunately, the book's web page on amazon.com does not (yet) have the "look inside" features that would actually show how well the information is presented in this book - see this feature on the 1st edition web page for similar information. The book must be seen for the quality to be fully appreciated.

Starting at the cellular-level then moving to the development, and eventual decline of the body, "The Human Body" provides a solid, thorough guild-book about the human body bringing together the full scientific explanation of the body's natural processes, capabilities, susceptibilities, and its amazing functions as an organic machine!This book can be used as a study guild or for knowledge acquisition, your choice. The information is easy to understand and the illustration serves as a perfect auxiliary for memorization. To me, it this is the perfect source of information to reference from and apply.

This was purchased for a little girl with an intense fascination with the body and how it works. We haven't used the DVD just yet, but this book is gorgeous and breathtaking. Lots of visual detail accompanied by engaging, accurate facts about the body, its systems, and its processes.I would have paid double what I did if I'd have had the chance to thumb through it before purchasing. It's that feature-rich, information-laden, and lovely.

Got this book for my daughter at the recommendation of a health professional. It has a LOT of info in a very clear and easy to read manner, and lots of great pictures. Highly recommend the seller also- great price on like new book!

I'm prepping for Paramedic School and this book was on the 'optional' list of books we needed. I have Anatomy and Physiology for Paramedics, which is also very good, but The Human Body breaks everything down more with some really excellent drawings and explanations. I'll be using this book to supplement A&P.

Excellent! I received it in time, and in great condition. This second edition is nicer than the first; because the colors are more intense, which helps to highlight details better. I gave it to my teenage niece- who is thinking about studying medicine-.and she loved it. I have the first edition at home; I like it keep it in the house. It helps you understand how your body works, like if a muscle hurts I go and look where the muscle is an try to understand how to avoid making it worst.

Bought it for my 12 year old Grandson. Not a childs book but something he could understand. He's very interested in anatomy and is able to read it and understand. It also is a beautiful book! A great addition to any library.

Beautiful book, great graphics and well-presented. I thought this was the small version book - but was surprised it was actually the size and weight of a luxury coffee table book.LOVE this! It is indexed so well that it will be a pleasure revisiting what is going on inside of all of us.

Excellent book. Must hv for science enthusiasts who wants to learn about body. Got it for my 9 year old. Pictures are great and quality of book is good too. There is enough information for till10th grade.

I prefer this version of the book to the concise one as the illustrations are clear and I can read all the words clearly. There is also a DVD Rom as an added extra resource which I have found very helpful

Its a lovely book for my studies !! Well presented and got it just on time for my revision sessions !
