Ecos platform base is absolutely perfect.
I used this Ecos platform base to replace a metal base. The metal base did not provide enough support for the type of mattress I had just purchased. The metal base was to high off the floor also. The metal base cost more than the Ecos base. I have a Purple mattress and it requires the wood slats to be no more than 3” apart. The Ecos base is about 5.5” apart. I looked into the bunkie board for additional support. However it is about 60”x 80”x 2” thick. I thought that this item would be difficult & costly to have it shipped to me. After contacting Team Purple (excellent mattress & customer service) they suggested 3/4” plywood. I went with the plywood w/ 1 side finished (not necessary to use the finished plywood). After cutting it down to fit I flopped it on top of the Ecos base slats. This provided the perfect fit for an excellent support. It gave additional weight to the entire bed providing a solid as a rock foundation. Believe me I put a lot of leg work and Internet time researching the different bases out there. If your still with me there is enough room on top of the slats so the plywood is almost flush with the top of the Ecos frame, the top of the plywood sits about 1/8” from the top of the finished frame. As for the quality of the Ecos base I chose the light wood and I could not be more pleased. The Ecos base is solid wood, not particle board. The finish is beautiful and the base has a total of 11 solid legs! There is no squeaking at all with the weight of approximately 168 pound mattress, it is awesome. The Ecos base was packaged well and there was NO damage at all. The bolts are well marked and you do need to pay attention using the correct size bolts as required. Do not do what I did and forget to use the lock washers Ecos provided. I was about 2/3 done when I saw the washers. I had to remove all the bolts, use the washers and it was well worth it. Also be careful not to over-tighten the bolts as Ecos warns that this could damage the base! The frame, legs & slats are all labeled so be careful to follow the Ecos instructions. A cordless screw gun would be nice however I couldn’t find the right size allen tip so I used the wrench supplied. I absolutely love the high quality, well priced Ecos base. I also reached out to Ecos by e-mail 2 times and they quickly responded. Overall I would highly recommend purchasing the Ecos base from Amazon. Hope you have good results as I experienced and enjoy it. I am so glad I decided on the Ecos platform foundation base, there are more expensive options out there but this is a fantastic choice. One more thing, I am a consumer just like you and have no ties to Ecos. The product is that good, believe you me! Amazon was wonderful in every aspect of the purchase! This is the only pic I have that shows a temporary cardboard mattress until my neighbor was available to assist with the 3/4” plywood. And yes I slept on it for 1 night! lol

Pretty to look at-- not very sturdy
This bed frame is simple and very pretty. You get what you pay for-- this frame is okay considering its low price. That said, the bolts that hold the frame together easily loosen and require periodic upkeep and tightening. The frame is relatively wobbly and not great for beds being shared by more than one person. My boyfriend and I regularly find loose screws and pieces that have fallen off the frame. The bed frame not only wiggles and shifts under weight, but also makes an annoying squeaking sound. It is functional however, and a perfect height off the ground-- allowing for ample storage underneath. It would be perfect for a guestroom, or a bed that is not slept in often.

Very happy so far
It’s an inexpensive bed, so our expectations were aligned with the cost. I am very pleased with this bed frame. My husband and I assembled it in 30 minutes, it’s surprisingly easily. All the prices were accounted for and nothing was damaged or broken. The wood feels solid and the color matched the photos. It stands high enough not to look silly. We laid down a large piece of cardboard between the slats and our mattress so our memory foam mattress doesn’t sink or develop slat marks.I like that it’s wood, or at least some semblance of real wood rather than fiber board. Between us my husband and I are around 300 lbs and the bed handles the weight just fine. I like that I can add a floating or custom headboard to it if we choose. I prefer wall mounted head boards and this bed is perfect for that.

Awesome bed!
This bed frame is great! The color is as shown, it arrived in great condition, and was very easy to put together. We needed two people for assembly so that one could hold the sides up while the other put the screws in so that it would be square, but it was very easy. I bought this as a substitute until I could afford something really nice, but I may end up just buying a headboard for this one. This bed is incredibly sturdy and does not make any kind of sound! It’s a really excellent buy, especially for the price.

Beautiful Sturdy Frame
I LOVE this frame. It looks really nice and is very easy to assemble and disassemble. (I've done so several times). It seems to hold weight pretty well. The one thing to note is you may periodically have to tighten the screws underneath. This could have been due to my wood floor, however. If your platform starts sliding I definitely recommend some furniture grips. Seemed to fix both the sliding and bolt issues.

A bit shoddy
At first, I was fairly pleased with this bed. It looked nice and was easy to assemble. However, after a few months, it became wobbly and unsturdy. Upon further inspection, many of the screws have fallen out, even after being snuggled up. This is from normal, sleeping use lol

Looks great, but watch your toes!
I like this platform a lot and it was relatively easy to assemble, although it took a couple hours by myself. It looks great, however I have stubbed my toes on the wooden supports more times than I can count and my knees also have taken a beating from the corners of the wood frame. A better design might be to have the legs placed further under the base instead of at the farthest corner of the frame. Other than that it is a nice frame and wood looks very nice. But watch those toes and knees. :)

Very pleased
I received this yesterday. It was boxed up nicely, nothing was bent or broken or out of place. All the pieces were labeled and the instructions were simple and clear. I single handedly put this together with no problem. The hardest part was putting together the interior pieces. I propped the interior braces on top of the top of the other pieces that were already screwed in and gingerly screwed in the center. Then screwed in the 4 sides. It took me a total of two hours but that was unboxing the bed, making sure everything was there, sweeping the floor, getting the old frame out of the house and straightening up. It appears to be sturdy and I have it 4 stars because I don’t know how durable it will be. Time will tell. So far I’m very pleased.
