Ferrous sulfate is what's usually prescribed for those of us with anemia; however, everyone I know that's used it told me it's hard on the body. I've tried other ProCaps products in the past and been happy with the quality so I decided to give this Iron a try. I don't know if it's the fact that they don't use the sulfate variety or maybe having the Vitamin C they add in helps, but I've never had any problems with it.In fact when I was in the hospital awhile back they ran a variety of tests several times the duration of my stay. In my medical file it says that I'm anemic and take iron supplements. The first test they did I had the recommended daily amount in my body. A week later they tested me again, I hadn't had any iron supplements in that time, and it showed my iron levels were low. So it just goes to show that the supplement does work.
