Holistic method that works!
As a personal trainer, I use this book as a guide for my clients who want to lose weight. But the method pertains to anyone wishing to make a lifestyle change. The concept of Lean Consciousness - making choices that bring one into a greater state of health - allows the reader to identify areas of "clutter". That could mean extra weight, extra possessions, habits - or even relationships - that no longer serve. The book includes great recipes, yoga sequences, and weight workouts to support living YogaLean.

This book is OK, but a little disappointing. It seemed to contain a lot of canned cliche advice rather than new practical solutions. It still has a lot of information but I was disappointed that there didn't seem to be anything groundbreaking or something that's not already widely known on the internet if you do a little research. I haven't tried any of them but the recipes look decent. And she breaks down the yoga sequences. Might be better for someone who knows nothing about yoga or the yoga lifestyle.

YogaLean is a User Manual for Living In Tune with Your Body!
I keep my copy of YogaLean out in my kitchen all year long. It is my GO-TO recipe book, but it's so much more than that. YogaLean is like a user-manual for how to live in tune with your body. As a personal trainer and yoga instructor, I am constantly recommending this book to my clients. This is a total lifestyle program that I could not recommend more - there are recipes, exercises, healthy living tips, and so much more. If there is ONE modern-day yoga book that needs to be on your bookshelf (or kitchen counter!) then YogaLean by Beth Shaw is it.

Great book for anyone interested in healthy living!
This is a fantastic book. Beth Shaw really knows her stuff and is very experienced with not only yoga, but also with many other aspects of healthy living. I did not necessarily buy the book because I had a lot of weight to lose but I am always interested in trying to become healthier. This book is great for anyone interested in upping their game when it comes to health.I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the writing and it exceeded my expectations in a very positive way. Is there information about a loss… Yes. But there is also quite a bit of information about healthy living in general.I am looking forward to trying the recipes as they look delicious. There is also an app that is available with the book.

A Guide to Personal Growth
Don’t let the title mislead you, YogaLean is so much more than a diet and exercise book. This book is a guide to personal growth that clearly explains how to incorporate the principles of a yoga lifestyle and improve from the inside out.Beth Shaw’s writing is clear and crisp as she emphasizes how to lead a mindful, purposeful, and healthy life. The book includes concise descriptions of yoga principles, step-by-step photos for poses, guidelines for exercise, how to practice meditation, and, yes, and recipes. Ultimately, YogaLean is a guide to living a balanced life.

Outdated Nutritional Information
As a Certified Nutritionist and Holistic Health Coach, I felt like this book has little to offer while working your way towards healthy living. I would also venture to say, that much of the recipes and recommendations are outdated. Example: Ms. Shaw uses Agave Nectar as a recommendation in many of the recipes. Agave nectar is extracted from the agave plant and has a very high fructose content - generally 80-90% fructose - YIKES! Fructose is toxic to the liver and ultimately leads to metabolic syndrome, fatty liver and insulin resistance. Agave should be avoided. Anyone in the nutrition industry should know this. Ms. Shaw also encourages the use of low-fat Greek yogurt in many of the recipes. Low-fat anything is a key word for chemicals - if you are going to use Greek Yogurt - use the real deal. Fat is good for you in limited quantities.Overall - some of the content is fine. It is a big push for Ms. Shaw's YogaFit School. I would not recommend this book to any of my clients.
