This poncho is perfect for Military Style full-body dry coverage, which makes it a must have for any outdoorsmen. This poncho is made with ripstop technology, originally designed for the Military it uses a weave that allows the material to be lighter without losing any strength. Additionally, the poncho has 6 snap closures as well as grommets at the corner for use as an emergency shelter, sleeping bag cover or ground cover. This Poncho is 56x60 and includes a draw string hood and inner chest pull allowing you to give it a customized fit. Weighing a little more than a pound this will be a lightweight addition to any hunting, camping or survival excursion doubling as an emergency shelter that you can wear, not carry.

Excellent quality, heavy material and well made.
I finally pulled the trigger on this poncho after having it my saved cart. It’s heavier material than the old GI ponchos that I was issued when I was Regular Army & then National Guard. The old ponchos are hard to find in serviceable condition so this looked like a good option. The ONLY complaint that I have is the same one I saw in another review; the head opening for the hood is VERY small & the hood is a bit small. I haven’t had a chance to test it out in the rain yet, but it’s going to rain tomorrow and I plan on walking around outside to test the water resistance, etc. It will go in my “bugout bag” where I hope it will never have to be used. If you have never used a military poncho then you won’t understand the versatility. They are not only a “raincoat”, they’re a shelter and a sleeping bag (amongst other things). In the field, they were MUCH better at being a “hooch” or bivy shelter than the old canvas tent halves. They weigh much less, are more waterproof and are much more versatile. When you had two and/or three man teams, you could use one for a “floor” and the other for a “roof”, they also worked well as a roof over a foxhole/fighting position. As for being a sleeping bag, you could tie your poncho liner/woobie into it and it served as the perfect bivy bag for patrols, etc. I think this one will hold up really well, the construction seems very solid and the material feels & looks strong. For the money, it seems like a top choice.

Close to Milspec
In case you weren't paying attention, the Army stopped issuing ponchos. Now we get a Tarplan, which is great for making a shelter, but it's not a poncho.I looked at all of the OCP ponchos on Amazon and this one seemed to be the closest to MilSpec. It's almost there. It has the right snaps, the inner cord, seems to be the right material with the right waterproofing on the inside, and has all of the right grommets. My only complaint is that the hood is quite small.

Multicam not Scorpion OCP
The product is a well made poncho. My only gripe is the picture shown isn’t exactly what I received. The picture advertised is a new-er Army Scorpion OCP pattern. I received a poncho in the older more commercial multicam pattern. The patterns are similar enough that it won’t make a difference I was just looking for an OCP poncho.

Good quality, good fit
Seems durable, fairly light, plenty big enough. As stated, the hood is small, so definitely not designed to be used in conjunction with helmets (or a big head) but wasn’t planning to use one anyways. I prefer a hood that isn’t loose. Will update if it ever sees use in rain.

Bought for my son who was deploying!
Purchased for my son who is Military and deploying. He said it was well made and as described. He REALLY put this item to the test and it held up great!! I'm happy to say both he and the pancho made it back from deployment in one piece!! Will buy again when he needs another one!!

Not bad
Not bad, material is on the thin side, add 3m waterproofing spray and it's a good piece of kit.

Exceptional heavy duty but way too baggy. More suited for a shelter then a parka
