ITP Limited PR58078TA Pipe Insulation Tundra Plus [Misc.]

This is a very good pipe insulation. This is one of the thickest (5/8-inch) and highest R-rated insulation that I could find in the market. Price is much lower than the local store prices. I prefer the tan color too than the typical black color.This item works for 3/4-inch copper pipes, i.e., pipe outer diamter 7/8-inch, inner diamter 3/4-inch.All the money and the effort is well worth. It is no fun going in the crawlspace of the house and install it, but sure it was worth. In the cold days hot water in the pipe gets cold in as little as 5 minutes after use. Every time you have to let the water run until the hot water reaches from the water heater to the faucet. So much of water waste and energy waste. Installing a recirculating pump is not a great idea for tankless water heaters becaus it beats the concept on-demand heating. After installing the pipe insulation water stays warm in the pipe even after 30 minutes or an hour. Water in the pipe may not be hot after some time, but it is still warm and usable.

This product is for use on A/C exterior vacuum line. I ordered it specifically for the color (NOT UGLY BLACK). Pkg also arrived ahead of time.

very good quality. its thick and durable and very good insulation rating. the thickness makes it very easy to work with and apply in different situations as it will be very easy to attach pieces together the self sealing feature works very well too. you just place it around the pipe and seal it. of course over time you might need to apply some glue or straps. I recommend this product. well worth the price.

My local big box stores only carry an R-2 rated insulation. This product is a bit thicker and rated R-4. Price, including shipping, is not much more than the lower quality stuff. I used an old bread knife to trim and shape it around various fittings/pipe straps, and it worked very nicely.

Much thicker than the stuff at the hardware store. The extra thickness also makes it a lot easier to connect corners together because there is much more material there so you don't have to make an absolutely perfect cut

Easy to use. Good quality. Used inside RV to deaden pump sound.

Suitable for boffer making. Sometimes it's hard to tell on Amazon since plumbers appear to have some practical use for it.

The foam had many defects, dents, and cuts in it from being shoved into a cardboard box to be shipped. I had to repair the foam using various methods to get it to the right shape for my project, which wouldn't have been necessary if they had been shipped in a proper container.
