Original Indian Table Black Rice, 400G

Good, genuine product. The color doesn’t bleed when you wash the rice, hence easily told apart from other fake, artificially coloured rice.Good flavour; although the aroma and the nuttiness are pretty mild compared to some other authentic black rice varieties I’ve had in the northeast India.A great product nonetheless.My favourite way to use it would be to mix a cup of each boiled quinoa, black rice and cut and steamed veggies. Then toss it in a lime-olive oil vinaigrette. Add half cups of lightly toasted sunflower seeds and a tablespoon of sesame seeds. Seasoned with salt and pepper. Kept in the refrigerator for the flavours to develop and it tastes amazing served cold the following day.Served with some grilled chicken or tofu to make a complete meal!

But the price is moderately high. I got the product from my own home state, not from Karnataka as shown in the label on the picture, and that's the thing- Black Rice though not indigenous in Bankura, but the State Govt. is helping farmers in cultivating this kind of Black Rice in the region, and they cost much less for the same quality. I know because I have bought them from the state's co-op shops.Good for making purple coloured 'payesh', and also can make great mushroom risotto with it. Has a wonderful nutty flavour and depth.

Tastes good with a good flavour. But it takes too long to boil. Long ago I brought black rice from Imphal that tasted better and cooked easier. To me, this item appears costly.

loved it, great quality , clean ,no stones or sticks ,no change in colour after soaking, doesnt even take a lot of time to cook ,flavour is pretty good easy to get used to ,all in all just perfect, gotta soak it for couple of hours though before you cook but thats ok,loved itonly problem took a lot of time to arrive ,had to contact amazon custome care bcoz even after ordering after 3-4 days it didnot show dispatched but the they sent it quickly thats the only complaint i got,but all in all compared to all the other brands available this is definetly the best ,worth the wait

Have eaten red and brown rice before so decided to experiment with black rice. The product arrived way before the expected delivery date, packed in stand alone ziplock packets so I don't even have to buy a box to store. The rice has a really nice flavor and nutty texture. I ate it like regular rice but then decided to experiment and made a salad with beans and tomatoes,was absolutely delicious both ways . Would post pictures if I could figure out how. I liked the rice so much that went and checked the original Indian Table website. I bought some Munsiari Rajma from it, the best I have ever had. Recommend both to all.

Really the one everyone need to cook instead of brown rice/white rice atleast once in their life.It has really different taste and texture.Nutritional values are good-high in iron.

In whole sale you get 1kg black rice for 140rs but here you are getting 400gm for 150rs + 60rs delivery charges extra (i.e; 375rs 1kg plus delivery charges), its more than 300% costly compared to whole sale.Nutty flavor "..." huh well it has some strong subtle flavor compared to normal rice not nutty more like unmilled riceRice is not properly cleaned i got few small black stones when i was eating.Except for the texture&stickiness i didnt like anything in black riceHmm all in all im not happy as this thing is too costly,not aromatic & not super tasty like people say and benefits are too low for the price im paying.Will be a one time purchase for many people who just want to try this thing out of curiosity.

I'd never had black rice before, and I've grown up eating just regular white rice, so often don't enjoy the brown rice or the wild rices as much, but I have to say this is definitely a favourite! While needing to soak it requires a bit of planning and it can be a bit tricky to cook, it is worth the effort. I feel great after eating this rice. It's got an almost nutty berryish flavour that is not overpowering, but just right. I'm definitely purchasing it again.
