5 star until it dies
I was a Precision power fan back in the day. (early 90's) I had The art series amps and a 200x2 watt Sedona that could destroy 6x9 speakers. PPI alway had an awesome reputation and good clean power. Fast forward to now. I hadn't looked at stereo equipment in decades and was shocked when I decided to put a decent one in my boat and saw the new prices. I was seeing 5 channel 500 watt amps for 170 bucks from PPI, under 300 bucks from Rockford Fosgate, MBquart was now junk and every single item was made in China. I caught up real quick with the developments. Amps are now class D in this price range and only a few of the old standby greats like Zapco are advertising AB amps, at least on Amazon. I went with what I knew which was PPI and I have not been disappointed. The amp, while probably underpowered from what its stated values are, performs very well and clean. I have it running a set of Pioneer 4 way 6x9's in the rear of the boat and a pair of Kenwood 5 way 6x9's in the front of the boat. The sub channel is running a 10 inch shallow mount sealed sub. I put all of this stuff in the boat including all new wiring for the price of what a single PPI art series amp would have cost in 1991! Amazing. I will say that people complaining about sub channels not working need to make sure they have the sub turned on in their HU's. There are usually settings for turning it on and choosing the size and crossover points. Without doing this, you will get nothing out of your amp. Also, do not use both the crossover on the amp and the HU crossover for the other channels. You will distort the sound. Choose one crossover or the other and run the other setting as through or full- whatever it is called on your unit. Noise from fans and alternators can almost always be diminished by isolating the power and grounds. On a boat, anyway, all ground and power that feed amps should come directly from the battery. I hope this helps.

I may have gotten a defective unit.
I've owned this amp about 7 months now and aside from the issues I'll describe below (which I believe can be attributed to it possibly being a defective unit), it's a solid, good-sounding amp.Pros:-Good amp with various crossovers and switching-Like that the remote knob is included-Great output.-Very compactCons:-Came delivered with the plastic trim panel on top broken off-My biggest complaint is that there is a hiss/squeal/whine in the speakers when the amp switches on. I traced it to the amp. I think it's an issue with static because if I tap the speakers, the sound disappears completely. When I start the car, the vibrations usually stop the hiss. Again, I've traced this to the amp, so I think I got a defective unit.-When you source the sub channel signal from the F/R inputs, it also sources the high-pass filter if you've selected those and it filters out the bass to the sub. I thought this was a terrible oversight because most aftermarket head units only have 2 rca outputs so you'd have to source the sub channel from the same signal as the door speakers and if this is the case, you can't run the high-pass to the door speakers without cutting bass to the sub...-The amp gets too hot to touch sometimes. I do have it in a tight space however. Still, there are no vent holes or fans to keep the unit cool. It does have thermal protection though.

Tremendous Amp - Tremendous Value
Don't let the cost of this fine amp fool you - the performance speaks for itself. I literally had to tune the gains down so I'd be able to use my volume knob past 2 out of 10 in my Inifinit M-series, and the subwoofer channel is so powerful that I've got the volume set at 3 out of 10 if I want to get out of control. (I've got a 10" Polk Audio sub.) There's absolute SILENCE between songs on CD and no thump or other problems when firing the system up. So far it's operating temperatures are fine and there's been no circuit breaker triggered. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Clean power, small size, good wire terminals, straight forward design.
So far I think its a great amp. My previous system was a large multi amp (5 amps) set up with a dedicated electronic crossover. This time I wanted one small footprint multichannel amp with good power, less wiring and simpler installation. Its RMS ratings are fair and more real world but it delivers great power, and produces clean sound. It included an add on power terminal block that made 4awg wiring a breeze and allows for 0awg wiring. Some buyers should note if you only have one RCA pair of outs on your deck, and you need to use the amps different crossover curves between rear and front channels-use y cable input adapters ( split off your single pair of outs)and switch the st selector to the 4 channel in mode. That will put signal into the first four inputs ,but keep different fr/rear crossover points from unwanted front/ rear channel mixing. I have seen some posted complaints (on other sites) when someone has only one pair of din outputs they think they are stuck with fr/rear mix effect. Thats where you here adjustments to the rear channel effect the front speakers, but y splitting and 4 channel mode stops that. In addition to y splitting the RCA outs you can then use the int pass through for subs, and have all the channels you need filtered and running off of one L/R full range cable out .

Excellent Value without paying for a name
I was very skeptical at first for buying a brand that wasn't main stream but I'm glad I did. I love the compact footprint this amp has while still delivering the awesome power. This thing is unbelievable!

So disappointed ! Send it back!
There is a hiss from the speaker when the amp swithes on, if I tap or shake the speakers, the hiss disappears completely. When I start the car, the vibrations usually stop the hiss. I have changed the other speakers, the wires and remaded the ground wire, but the problems still exist. I had to replace a new one, but the hiss is still remain. I doubt that this amp has a design defect, and I had returned it this time and replace other brands. So disappointed !I just bought Alpine PDX-V9 to replace this amp, and every thing is ok! Effect increased more than 30% I think.Amazon provided excellent service as always!

Pretty good.
Overall, seems like a good amp. Gets pretty hot - probably my fault as I'm sure I'm running it relatively hard at times. Not hot enough to cook an egg, but a few degrees from being too uncomfortable to touch, hot. However, haven't had it go into protection, so I guess it's ok ?? Sounds quality is decent. Factoring in the price of this amp, it's definitely decent quality. But to my mind, the real test of quality is longevity. And that, remains to be seen.I do have the same issue another reviewer had, where you get that whispery buzz through the speakers until you play music with some bass. After that, it vanishes until the amp is turned off then on again. Also get radio interference (common with Class D amps, apparently), so I assume corners were cut in the shielding department. I can't really bitch about this as it is a budget amp and I don't listen to the radio much, anyway.4 stars because I haven't decided if I love it or not. But I can say I like it.
