DC Audio2.0kw Competition Series Amplifier 2,000 watts - Authorized Dealer

The dc 2.0k has been in my truck pushing a JL 12W7 for a few months. I like the appearance. It is clean and classy, black with chrome accents. Build quality is excellent. Pick it up out of the box and it is quite heavy. The inputs and outputs are well positioned and of high quality. All of the necessary controls are there and easy to set.Yes, it comes with a bass knob. The bass knob is my only gripe. The display is really bright and the knob is odd. The bass doesnt change much until you hit a certain spot and then it really attenuates. Id prefer a more steady and gradual change.As for performance, the amp is under-rated. As you can see in the photo it is putting out 1,000 watts at 3 ohms into a 12W7. Clean. Cool. Incredible. Its rated at 2k at 1 ohm. So this is some amazing power.This amp replaced the legendary Phoenix Gold M100 class AB amp. Comparing this class D to the AB M100 is interesting. The DC has more power of course. But it also plays lower, with more impact and dynamics. It doesnt quite have the organic feel of the M100. The M100 feels more alive and colorful. The DC is more technical, accurate and dynamic.I like that this amp is made in the U.S. DC is a great company with great customer support. You can pay less for a generic chinese made amp and do fine. But there is something to be said of the quality of the 2.0k and its' performance. It is a bit pricey though. Id like to see these come down about $100 and Id like to see DC do more marketing.
