Gamehide Deerhunter Parka

I bought this Parka in August of this year in anticipation of the upcoming deer season. I followed what everyone else was saying and buy one size larger then you normally do. Normally I wear a Large, but I bought an XL.I received it in September, tried it on and thought to myself that this is slightly big for me, maybe it'll fit better after I have everything on underneath. Mind you this is MN and this season we set a record low for the 2nd day on the 2nd season at -5 F.About one week before my season started, I tried it on with everything and it was still to big. Amazon wouldn't let me return it, and shipping it back even if they did, I wouldn't have received the smaller size in time for the season. I called up Gamehide and asked if I could drive to there location and swap out the parka for a smaller size. 2 months after I had originally ordered it, they still let me bring back the parka, with tags and all still attached, to exchange it for the smaller size.Gamehide sure has earned a repeat customer from here on out. This parka is super quiet and kept me warm so far all this season. Would recommend not ordering one size up though. I wear a large normally and I feel even the large is still to big for me and I'm 5'11, 200lbs.

Im rating this with 3 stars only because the zipper is a pain in the $&?It took me almost 5 minutes to get the zipper started before heading out for hunting. Only complaint.The jacket its self is great warm in 14* temps. With layers of course. Plenty of options, cuff straps, waist tensioner, removable hood, big pockets, one inner pocket, it has two zippers connected for unzipping from the bottom up or top down. Love the big coller. Again would be a 5 star jacket for me, but getting the zipper on and started is just irritating as heck!!!Im 6’1” 195# 46” chest, i got a large and still had room for 3 base layers plus overalls. Still had room for extra set of gloves and radio.

Bought this to replace a 30-year-old Duxbak that went missing during a move. That was a fortuitous disappearance, because this jacket is warmer and has far more useful features. Lots of pockets, all in logical and convenient locations, and a large front zipper (with wind baffle) that actually works, meaning it loads quickly and without fuss. I've only used it for one Maine deer season but it stood up fine. I don't need it to last 30 years like that Duxbak, or I don't think I will: I'm 63, but it seems to be sturdy enough to last me well into the future - maybe it'll prove a great wheelchair shawl, who knows?We've had a warm fall up here, so far, with the coldest morning only 25 degrees, but the coat's large enough to accommodate plenty of layering, so I think it's a perfect compromise between light enough for warm(ish) days and too heavy to move. Highly recommended; if you don't get a deer in it, he probably wasn't wearing it in the first place.

I'm 5'9 and 240 pounds. I ordered an extra large. I think they extra large is for someone closer to the 350 pound range. I hated it too. Because it was a perfect coat. I sent it back.They did refund my money pretty quickly.But wouldn't you know it they didn't have any Large in stock. So I went to rural king and bought me a coat for 50 bucks.

This was exactly what I wanted. Quiet and warm for Deer season...I originally ordered a medium due to customer reviews and product description saying it ran big, but it does not. I am 5'7 and 170 and Medium was too small without layering....large fit about right.I layer my clothing, so this worked well for me and kept me warm on 12 degree windy deer hunts in the stand.The only cons are that the gamehide fabric sheds a bit and left orange fibers all over my gun sling....no biggie.they could do without velcro pocket flaps and hood...doesn't lend to quiet in the woods.

I bought this to replace my old orange hunting suit prior to this years deer season. I was pleasantly surprised with how warm it is! It sustained cold, windy days along with a very wet rainy hunt on the first day of doe season. No matter what, I stayed dry and warm. I love all of the pockets and the bullet holder inside the top pocket cover. The removable hood was great in the wind and rain. Paired with a ski mask and an under armour cold gear shirt, my upper body and head were never cold even on the long, cold, windy days in the woods. It is also very quiet compared to other fabrics that I have worn in the past.My only concern with this parka is that there is not some sort of drawstring or elastic bottom that could be adjusted to better close the bottom. I never had an issue with wind or rain getting to me, but I figure that it's worth mentioning. Overall, this is still a great product that I would buy again. I received a number or compliments and inquiries on where I bought it from other hunters. I look forward to using this in the woods for many more seasons to come!

Great jacket! My wife used it while hunting this past year. It was quiet, lightweight and easy to was afterwards. She said it was very warm. The only downside is that if you are walking in a heavily wooded area the burdock sticks to it quite easily but it does come off as well so not that big of a deal. Would recommend to anyone who needs a warm quiet jacket. She is about 5’10” and 135 lbs and purchased a size large so it would accommodate for her longer torso and arms and it fit great, a little big for her but she said it was comfortable with a sweatshirt and another layer underneath that.

Super warm, lots of pockets and great customer service! I originally ordered the wrong size. I could have fit another jacket under it with 10 layers and room to spare! (they run large!!) Customer service was great!!! I called them and explained my dilemma, and they immediately sent out another one, (one size smaller) even before I had a chance to mail the other one back. The new on fits great with my Bernes bib and layers underneath. Kept me toasty in a tree stand in 20-30° weather in Virginia. Great jacket for the price!
