Read a bunch of reviews about water getting into the battery compartment, so before I gave it to my daughter I ran a line of hot glue over the seams of the battery cover. It's been constantly in the bath for over 6 months and no sign of stopping. Great toy, actually quite beautiful under the water! My daughter loves it!

My daughter loved this for Christmas! I bought it on sale. After reading the reviews i didn't want ours to quit working so before she started playing with it i braided her hair. Then my husband put plumbing caulk around the battery case. He wiped the extra caulk away with a wet paper towel. It's been working great underwater!Update: we have had it for over 1 year now and it still functions perfectly. Hair is still braided, swims, & fully lights up. We never even had to change the batteries yet. She takes it in the bath multiple times per week.

Nice product but I gave it a 4 because being in water during bathes or pool the paint has faded to almost no color at all so she looks like she’s naked. Also, When I changed the batteries there was some water in the battery compartment. It still worked though after drying it out. However, all in all my granddaughter loves it.

It took a bit to get the plastic off, but the wait was worth it. Miss Mermaid loves to swim with her 4 year old friend in the tub. She lights up and so far has been a great water companion ( although mermaids like to hide in bubbles).

My 4 yr. old granddaughter was beyond thrilled to get this light-up, swimming mermaid doll to use during bathtime. Now she only wants to take baths all the time.

The media could not be loaded.  Really nice! Her tail lights up rainbow colors in the water and splashes, or you can press the buttons on her hips to make it go off. My 8 year old daughter really likes it. She really wanted one that lights up and can also go in the water, and this fit that bill!
