They were packed horribly. Just in a plastic bag like bread from ...
These shipped from Germany. I ate waffles on streets in Belgium a couple of times with all the toppings and everything and these were no where not even 1% close. First thing they were extremely soggy. Doughiness was ok - they are supposed to be heavy. They were packed horribly. Just in a plastic bag like bread from the super market. Also they were pretty small - the size of a small palm I would say. The real ones are much larger. I tried heating them both in the toaster over, oven at 350 and 375. Nothing worked to make it any where close to crispy. Save your money and don't order this. Don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews. I wish some one told me before I spent 30+ bucks on a pack of bread literally!!Update: I am giving it a 3 star from 1 star because when I used the bagel setting on the toaster and left it for like 5 mins, it was not as soggy as before.

They're good but...
I wanted to like these more than I did. I've methodically worked my way through most of the Belgian waffles available to assuage my homesickness for Belgium (no, I'm not a native but I've put myself up for adoption there if someone will have me). These are good quality ingredients but the package I got was obviously vacuum sealed while the waffles were warm. This led to condensation in the packaging, which made them rather sticky and tending toward that odd almost-fermented taste that some yeast breads can get. If I were to buy them again I'd freeze them immediately, thaw them only when I plan to eat them, and toast them or bake them in the oven to deal with the moisture.

and were dense like the authentic waffles
In terms of a true, authentic Belgian Liege waffle, these did not live up to our hopes. My wife grew up in Belgium and ever since moving to the states, has been looking for the authentic Liege waffle. These waffles had large chunks of sugar mixed in, and were dense like the authentic waffles, but the consistency and flavor was not there. It could have been the shipping time in getting to our house, but we were never able to enjoy the true freshness and style of a Belgian Liege waffle from these. As another reviewer noted these came in a plastic bag and lacked any substantial flavor. Will not be ordering again...

Great for special occasions or a special treat
I originally had a Belgian Liege Waffle from a Christmas season city vendor in Brussels. These were the closest thing to a match that I have found so far from internet searches. Great for special occasions or a special treat. Enjoyed a batch on New Years as a special treat with friends and family. We cut up strawberries and bananas, melted semi-sweet chocolate chips, and also had confectionery sugar available. Topped off the treat with whipped cream. Maple syrup is probably too sweet to add. We arranged items on the table for people to make their own special waffle. Good sized waffle with the embedded Belgian pearl sugar crystals. Easy to make; pull from freezer, thaw, and heat for around 7 minutes at 350F. Will order again.

Best found so far!
I grew up in Belgium. Loved their Liege waffles sold from street vendors (different than Bruxelles waffles which are what most think of as Belgian waffles but made without yeast and without the sugar crystals.). Have been looking for decent Liege waffles in the US for over 25 years! Even tried making them myself, which is impossible without the right recipe, cast iron waffle iron, and Belgian sugar crystals. Tried those packaged and sold now by Wolferman's, which were good, but not quite there. Noticed these and was intrigued with having a US baker with Belgian sugar and the right method to bake. Much closer to authentic! Always loses something when not fresh, but as good as it gets if not in your town! Bigger than Wolferman's in size. Magnifique!

If you like Belgian waffles...
...you should love these. I've been purchasing a similar product for years through Home Shopping Network. Unfortunately, they are sporadic as far as availability is concerned. I was a bit skeptical when I ordered these but not any more. They're wonderful. Much doughier (heavier) than most Americans are used to, but more authentic, too. They hardly need syrup and I've found that spreading a boiled egg (medium hard) over one is a really tasty breakfast. I ordered a second batch to be sure I wouldn't run out anytime soon. I hope they remain on Amazon but, if not, I have the email address now and can order that way, if necessary. Great work Cast Iron Waffles!

super duper excited to have authentic waffles
I was born and raised in The Netherlands and Belgium. When I saw these online, although pricey I went for it, super duper excited to have authentic waffles. Maybe its the fact that they have to be shipped, I don't know but these were disgusting. Typically these waffles have little chunks of sugar in them but the chunks in these made me gag. I have been an amazon shopper for five years and have NEVER written a review before but DONT BUY THIS NASY MESS. GET A WAFFLE MAKER AND MAKE YOUR OWN. DO WHATEVER YOU GOTTA DO BUT DONT ORDER THESE- Greetings, a very very unhappy tummy

taste just like the ones I bought in Brussels Belgium
Fast delivery from NC, taste just like the ones I bought in Brussels Belgium. Easy to warm in microwave; I eat them plain without any toppings.
