Good storage cabinet for LP collection
The product was as described and I didn't except any more it is sturdy and look well enough and the color matches furniture in room it was what I needed to store LP's that are a precious collection. I am not sure of the total number of LP's it holds I didn't take time to count but at least 450.

Nice record cabinet- better than reviews here
I ordered this cabinet to house my record collection. It arrived quickly, and was packed very well- double boxed to prevent any damage. Despite other reviews, the panels were fine- particleboard with veneer and they all have no irregular patches. The base is wider than the top, which actually makes the unit more stable. You can probably get away with not needing a wall bracket. It's unlikely to tip over with the wide base and all. Unlike a lot of particleboard furniture, this unit actually has a solid backing- made the same material as the side panels and not some cheap folded piece of cardboard. Now for the downside: the instructions are horrible. If you are not an IKEA veteran, the use of pins and cams are not exactly instinctive to use and I can imagine some people being completely lost. The other downside is the use of 2 metal rails to support your records. If you were to actually rest your records on top of 2 rails, after a while, you will have 2 dents on the bottom of your record covers, and could also cause your record to break through the bottom cover. This is easily fixed with a trip to Home Depot and $20 to have 3 plywood shelves cut. You'd put your new plywood shelves on top of the rails, and then put your records on the shelves. That solves the problem, but there is some additional labor involved. IMHO, it's worth it to protect your precious records. In short, this record cabinet is sturdy, and I find it to be satisfactory. It's only problems are poor non-intuitive instructions and a design flaw that would damage your records unless you provide your own additional shelving.

Junk don't waste your time
Junk don't waste your time.Item arrived in a perfect box. No visible damage.Upon opening box, item side panels were destroyed. Obviously before being placed in the box. Poor quality.Stick with something else you find locally, or fulfilled by amazon itself instead of a third party.Pure junk.

Ugly but funtional - lazy assembly instructions
This thing is ugly but it's what I expected from the product photo (I bought the walnut/brown model). However, the veneer is poorly applied and shows all kinds of defects (bubbling and peeling). It also holds fewer than 500 albums - maybe more like 475.The assembly is easy but would have been a lot easier if the instructions were written with slightly more care. A few more words of text and a couple of marks on the diagram would have made a LOT of difference.I'm giving it 3 stars because it's hard to find LP storage products and this is very good, functionally speaking. But don't buy this if you care how it looks because returning it would be a nightmare due to its weight.

Very stable unit that holds all of my albums, ...
Very stable unit that holds all of my albums, and then some. Just do recall that the albums rest on metal bars, not on a solid flooring.

good place to store vinyl
the storage unit arrived in good condition from the seller, musician's friend. all of the pieces were included. the instructions are a little vague but if you have any common sense you should be able to put it together in about 20 minutes. it is sturdy and solid. the only thing i don't like about it is that your record collection will be sitting on two bars that go across and serve as shelves. i ended up taking a piece lumber that was 1/2 inch thick and 14 inches wide and cutting it to place on top of the bars to serve as shelves. if you don't own a circular saw you can by from a major hardware store (i.e. home depot or lowes) and they'll cut the wood for you.i would rate this five stars if it had solid shelves instead of two metal bars.

Split Decision
Pros:Decent PriceCapacity of each unit is about 450Larger base than top is great for stabilitySmall footprintCons:LOUSY instructionsDespite being double boxed, one of our side panels came with a big crack that went almost all the way through the thickness of the panel. It didn't look like it was going to affect the stability of the unit, so my husband opted not to return it.The plastic covering the pins is very easy to rip off so you must be delicate with constructionThe finish looks like cheap veneer. It's too bad more people don't collect vinyl or I suspect there would be much better options for the price. I don't think it would be that much more expensive to offer a cabinet just like this made out of wood rather than plastic and particle board.
