Mighty Mule EZGO-Solar Automatic Gate Operator

Fairly easy to install with 2 people, works fine. Be aware you need to purchase the battery and case, and possibly mounting hardware depending on the gate you are using. We had to stop our install to go buy a drill bit long enough to get through our 6" post, and get some u-bolts to attach to our tube gate. Metal plates and washers may also be needed.We got it up and running now, but unfortunately one of the 2 remotes only works when you are 5 feet away from the receiver, so I still had to get out of my car this morning to open the gate. I am going to change the battery and hope that fixes it, since there is no way to contact any kind of customer service to get it replaced!!! This is a $20 remote. I am certainly not taking down the whole system to exchange it, as that is the only option Amazon gives you if you have a problem.Also, we turned on the automatic close feature, and it seems like you can no longer manually close when that is activated and the gate fully opens. For us, we then have to stay by the gate to make sure it closes and the horses don't get out, if that makes any difference. We will likely turn the automatic close off after we get the remote issue resolved.

This is actually a really great kit!!! The directions are step by step and easy to follow, and it doesn't hurt that there is a video that gives you a visual for the general setup. Pretty easy and I did it myself in about 2 1/2 hours (and I think it took me that long just to make sure I had the correct tools with me... waaaaaaay out in the middle of nowhere! :) )A little disappointed that the solar panel mounting hardware didn't fit. The curved pipe and pipe clamps were not compatible, and I couldn't attach either to the solar panel.. WONKY!! I rigged it so i can use it. it IS working and charging but I will need to make it a bit more sturdy so wind and rain wont mess with it.Additionally, be careful to get the correct battery. and FS150 will not work with the 350 gate opener. I ordered the battery that it says will go with it only to find out differently when I went to install opener (after I had had the kit for over a month - can you say no returns?)... also, make sure you get a box to put the battery in if it is going to be outdoors. Protect it from the elements.I love this opener! and I am so pleased that I went solar this time around. I will always buy a Mighty Mule. Best for the Northwest! :)

All you need is a deep-cycle battery (cheap at some big farm supply centers) and you are in business without nearby electric service. The instructions are fairly clear and easy to follow and if you take your time carefully wiring everything and setting up the stop limit and remotes you should have an easy time with it. The motor is quiet and powerful, way more torque than my cheap 16' tube steel gate needs. This is my second of these, the first was ruined by lightning but covered under a separate extra warranty, which you should surely buy. I'd give it 5 stars if they designed some simple way to anchor the wires for the solar charger, battery,receiver and optional gate lock to the sides of the unit so the cover is easier to get back in place and get the 3 screws in. Insects can manage to get in where the wires come out so that would be a good thing to take care of on your own--maybe some soft curing silicone sealer there when placing the cover back on.

The media could not be loaded.  I ordered my gate opener on the 17th of June, 2019. It arrived on the 19th. Thank you Amazon Prime. I finished installation three days later. What should have been a few hours turned into an installation nightmare.Let me say this before I share my adventure with you all. If everything had worked out with the installation, this review would be a five star one......unless something changes in the future. This gate is awesome!!! It’s more quiet than I expected and runs smoothly. Now the adventure:I consider myself a pretty good handyman, I know how to follow instructions and have successfully completed many home improvement and appliance install/repairs. That is why I felt like I could do this job. I spent a few days researching and comparing different brands of gate openers. I read the many reviews on this and other sights. This brand and model seemed like a good fit for my needs. Once the packages arrived I spent a few minutes watching the included video and manual. Seemed easy enough. Then the confusion set in. The manual said that it was for a dual gate opener. Hmmmm, ok, I’ll just do the part that applies to me. The instructions were easy to follow for the hardware.....BUT, when it came time to wire everything up, the board in the manual was somewhat different from the one I was looking at. I had to call my brother in law over (embarrassing) to look at it for me. He agreed that it was not the same board as the one in the manual. However, he managed to figure out how to hook it up. It wasn’t until we got to the automatic gate lock that we had to pause. I told him that I would call tech support on Monday and get some answers. That night, I decided to look on their website for online tech support, and to my surprise.....I found a manual for the MM360!!!! I downloaded it and printed it out. It had all of the information for MY gate opener. After that, we went back and changed a few things....hooked up the gate opener and everything worked like it is supposed to.......so far. I guess whoever packed my box was ready for the weekend or was coming off the weekend. That is very poor work.Now, like I read in the reviews. Don’t expect that once you get the gate that you’re through with expenses for it. True, they tell you that you’ll need a battery and a box, but what they won’t tell you is that you’ll need additional braces and brackets. I chose the automatic lock because I wanted the security, but in the manual they recommend it for gate motor security. In the end, it cost me around $900.00 for a $478.00 package. But, I’m extremely happy so for. It has enhanced my comfort level because now my wife and I won’t get wet when it rains. I will update if and when things change.

The gate opener works great. As mentioned in other reviews, it is very slow. The installation is relatively easy if you actually read the instructions. Not so much if you don't, even as a very mechanically inclined person. There are steps that should be taken in the right order or it just doesn't work right, as I figured out after the fact.

Not bad and works well but painfully slow operation hence 3 stars.
