The lights look fantastic, but installation can be tricky!
It took me months to decide how to add DRLs to my Nissan LEAF, since Nissan doesn't offer them in the US. I originally had 2 sets of those cheap China LED strips ready to go in, but now I'm glad I changed my mind (there's just no comparison). This design also doesn't show any individual LED bulbs, just a light bar, which makes you stand out from the DRL aftermarket crowd. If you put them in the right location, it would even look OEM. Color temperature wise, the bulbs seem to match my OEM LED headlights (which are around 5000 K).The entire assembly has a very high quality feel, with a painted aluminum housing, glass lenses and quality wiring. The lights are much brighter than those Chinese LED strips, plus the brackets do a great job securing the lights.*** Installation ***Installation took me a long time for several reasons. The bracket is recessed, so the front of the bracket doesn't line up with the front of the lens. This makes it extremely difficult to guess where to mount the bracket, especially when dealing with a rounded bumper. I also decided to use screws instead of tape, as I deal with a lot of snow & ice. Also be aware that the lights aren't removable once you install them in the bracket (DON'T test fit them), so you only got 1 shot to get this right. I wish some sort of template was included, as it could have saved me a huge amount of time & stress. The holes in the brackets make it also impossible to use a standard screwdriver bit. The only bit I could make work was the "DEWALT IMPACT READY FlexTorq Bit", combined with a DEWALT Right Angle Adapter, because I was dealing with such a low-profile bumper area, my regular 90" adapters couldn't even fit.I also had to slightly angle them, so they would follow the contour of the bumper. I was concerned that this would make them less visible, but it looks like the beam angle is wide enough to compensate for this.*** Wiring ***The 3M wiretap that came with the kit did not work for me (in fact, I had to recover it, and use Liquid Tape to repair the wire). I ended up using T-taps which can be disconnected, allowing me to remove these lights without worrying about wire damage. The lights are designed to be driven by the included controller (do not hook these lights up directly to the 12V battery!), so you need to make sure you have space to mount this unit somewhere within reach of the battery and fuse box. These lights are also advertised to be compatible with electric vehicles, which they obviously are (this was a real problem with the DayLight 8 & DayLight 4 lights), but you do have to tap the headlight wire as well, since it wouldn't work by just measuring the 12V battery load.*** Performance ***While these lights are very bright, they can't be a replacement for headlights (obviously) and fog lights.I also appreciate how the lights dim when you turn your headlights on, as they are very bright at night. The lights stay on for a short amount of time after your vehicle has been turned off, which is a nice feature, but I wish the timer was adjustable.Note to Nissan LEAF owners: charging your vehicle, turning on HVAC remotely, and some other scenarios, can trigger these lights to come on. I like it for various reasons, but you might not. I guess it's detecting major fluctuations in the 12V battery, enough to trigger the controller.*** Conclusion ***Would I buy these lights again? Probably. I haven't found any other lights which look this nice at this price level. These can be difficult to find (they are imported), and pricing seems to have gone up, making purchasing these a difficult decision.I really like the 'bar' look, as the individual bulb look is just too cheesy IMO. I wish the lights were just a little biggerI purchased mine via Prime ($219) from Chok Holdings back in August 2014, so it was easy to return them if something did go wrong, but it looks like this is no longer an option.Pros:* They look fantastic.* High quality housing, brackets and wiring.* Compatible with electric vehicles.* Dim when headlights are in use.* Stay on for a short amount of time after turning off vehicle (this might be a con for some people).* Low power consumption.Cons:* Price.* Can't be removed from brackets without damaging bumper (if using screws to mount) and the product.* No templates included.* Bracket design could be improved.

This Product Can Save You From an Accident or Your Life!
I added these to my 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe. I have a white car and you would think people see me coming down the road. I have had so many people look through me as if I'm not there and just pull out right in front of me. I've had some close calls too close for my comfort. Oh now wait a minute, I know what your thinking Honda Si? "That guy is just driving to fast, yea right" I'm telling you quite frankly I'm not. Well, long story short I have not had one car pull out in front of me since I had these LEDs installed on my Si. I purchased a factory Honda accessary switch used with a Bosch relay to be able to turn them off at the Drive-In or when needed. I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. These are bright just like the new LED ribbons, Halos, & UU horse shoe LEDs on the new cars. It does have some cool factor if your into that. However, my purchase was from a safety perspective and the product works quite well.Today: 11/24/2018 I know these are discontinued now, I just wanted to let everyone know I've been using these for 3-1/2 years with no issues at all. They are still bright as the day they were installed, I would say after all this time the brackets could use another powder coating. They still look good on the vehicle and hold up well in comparison to the new models. It just goes to show how well Philips Lighting products are. I was just looking at the replacement models not that I need any, just curious as to what is available however, I definingly would stay with Philips Brand.

Great DRL System
I purchased these lights due to my current vehicle has the same type of LED continuous lighting system for night time - and it matched my vehicle's profile. These were installed on my Porsche Cayenne Turbo. The only thing I didn't like about the product was there is NO way of turning the lights off completely at night - they just dim. I have used a relay to solve that issue. There is also not much information about what the dimensions were on the product, so I will provide this to help others. Simple wiring setup. Keep in mind, that if something get damaged (let's say a light goes out) you will have to buy a whole new set. I have contacted the manufacture and they confirmed. Replacement parts should be offered due to the price of these. I also liked them so much, I purchased a second set. Seller was great to work with. Dimension are (L) 6 3/8"L x (W) 1 1/4" x (H) 3/4". Hope this helps.Just a side note. These lights are NOT DOT certified for those who require a state inspection. Just keep that in mind when ordering and installing in the US. I had to remove mine in order to pass state inspection here in Virginia.

Easy installation; very bright
Bought these for my 2010 Toyota Prius; was envious seeing the next-generation Prius having factory installed DRL's, and I wanted some for myself.I wired it up with the headlight wire connected to a fuse tap for my tail lights, and the ignition wire to a fuse tap for the heated seats (only on when vehicle has IGN on, or ready. The control box also turns the lights on when it senses a voltage increase or decrease (such as starting a non-hybrid). These come on when the vehicle does some tasks about a minute after turning off, but they only remain on for 30 seconds. They turn on because there is a slight drop in voltage when that task commences. They dim with tail lights on, and are on with ignition on.I also wired up a simple circuit with a series of relays that I can use to turn them completely off by a push of a button, which kills main and ign power to the control box, turning the lights off regardless of vehicle state. I can also turn them back on with another button with the same setup. It also will automatically turn the lights on when I start the vehicle. Basically when the relays are "active", it kills power to the drl's, turning the car off kills power to the relays, re-applying power to the drl's. All of that stuff I got from my local RadioShack, forget how much $ I spent for that.
