Thank you for your question. The best rice for preparing Paella is short grain rice. Medium-grain rice is also acceptable. Long-grain rice is not suitable for Paella. Because our Zatarain's Spanish Rice, 6.9 oz. is long grain, parboiled rice, we would not recommend using it to prepare Paella. ~JM
