Great Introduction to Error Management - Applicable to Squadron Maintenance
This book is lucid, straightforward and right to the point. Offers a philosophical, fundamental framework of how to appropriately manage and minimize (not eliminate, which is important) errors in maintenance activities. The book builds on a foundation of the psychology and human factors associated with human performance to build strategies for how to best handle the situation when error inevitably occurs, and then create effective cultures and organizations that address the root sources of the worst and most dangerous errors. This is good reading for line managers and quality assurance and is intended for a broad audience of industries. It can be applied specifically to aviation including military squadrons as it is not a policy or procedure manual but addresses culture and philosophy more.Recommended for anyone with any level of managerial or QA responsibility in a maintenance activity.

The best resource for Human Error in maintenance - bar none
James Reason and Alan Hobbs have written an exceptionally useful guide to identifying, quantifying and mitigating human error within the fields of asset maintenance. We are more dependent on physical assets than at any time in our past, and their failures can cause far more damage than at any time previously. As asset reliability improves the field of human error stands out as one of the last areas of asset performance management. If you have a requirement to reduce the risks of failure and increase asset performance then this book is one of the must read resources within our field.

Nice!
A great look into why maintenance errors occur and how human factors associated with human error can cost management problems. Safety is paramount and often human error causes poor work performance and could be a key to accident; fatal and nonfatal.

Managing Maintenance Error: A Practical Guide
Not very informative. The "practical guide" is not what I was expecting as guide. Should be more practical for to be understandable by simple people. I do the course of Human Factors for Maintenance and I was expecting to find useful information for the presentations.

A good read for safety minded people who want to understand human error
Although based around aircraft maintenance, the approach to human error can be transferred across to other maintenance disciplines.Overall a very good starter book towards understanding why maintainers can make mistakes or errors.
