This stuff works pretty good, and it smells good too! However, I noticed that it was less effective on the sink... until I realized that the overflow drain was probably just as gnarly and is the perfect home for the flies. After making sure the overflow drain was coated, the problem went away! The formula seems to work, and I'll be sticking with this product when the flies inevitably come back - because sOME people keep washing decaying plant matter and nasty potting soil down the sink!! I used a drain cleaner, then poured some of this down the sink, closed the drain cover and the flies were gone in 2 days. I will keep this available, and use it monthly so I never get those annoying flies again. It is less expensive than the other same type products I looked at. There was no unpleasant odor, it was thick but easy to pour.
