Guess which two books are next on my wish list...
If you buy The Burning then make sure you buy the other two books in this series, because I didn't put this one down untill I had finished reading it, I am now pining to find out what happens in the next instalment. If like me you have only started watching Buffy in the last couple of series then you will be happy as this book is set between series 4 and 5, so the scooby gang is complete with Riley and Tara, and Angel's buddies include Cordy Wesey and there is even a brief reference to Gunn. Nancy Holder and Jeff Mariotte have proved themselves to be great novelists within the Buffy/Angel genre independently, and together they have yet another success on their hands ( incidentally, if you are expecting Buffy and Angel's reunion to be explosive then BE PATIENT! The authors really make you wait.)

buffy & angel
this takes place between buffy seasons 4 & 5 and angel 1 & 2. which means they've suddenly jumped ahead. anyway it has all ur favs together in 1 book - buffy, xander, willow, giles, anya, riley, tara, angel, wesley , cordelia and even gunn makes a brief appearance. this is a very good book moving between sunnydale and LA to start 1 story of in 2 parts. it picks up pace when buffy goes to LA .and the ending is fantastic. i can't wait till the next part to find out what happens next. anyone feel free to email me about this buffy book or any other.

Good story but the details will bug devoted fans
Firstly I must say that I did enjoy the book, if I hadn't I wouldn't be reading the second in the series. But there were small details which bugged me. The author hasn't kept quite to the buffy version of vampires etc, which seems silly as this is a buffy book. Major nit-pick .... Angel likes food, he likes to eat, drink be merry. Makes him feel less of a monster and more part of society. Oh and anybody noticed the peanut butter thing, nobody eats that stuff for the texture. If it weren't for the little details this would be a great book, it probably still is, I'm just a perfectionist.

Emotional excellence
I really liked this book as it showed the strain put on Buffy and Angel in regards to their past. This book made an interesting read (especially as I am avid Angel lover and Riley hater). I can't wait to read the next book!

Dark Buffy/Angel Crossover At Its Best
Many fans of "Buffy/Angel" novels enjoy in depth characterization of all the key players. Holden and Mariotte do not hold back in really exploring all of the main characters inner thoughts and their motivations for going into battle. Every character second guesses themselves and it makes for a thrilling novel. There are so many different stories and it equates to a lack of cohesion, especially in the beginning of the novel, but slowly, the stories start to intertwine and the reader can start to connect the dots. The creature of the moment is not too exciting, but the peripheral characters were so compelling. The novel does a great job of making true distinctions between the disenfranchised, the middle class and the wealthy. Cordelia and Wesley are so charming and funny together(nice reminder of how they were in Season 1 of ANGEL). Riley and Tara teaming up was pretty dull. Spike is at his most pitiful, but the readers will still enjoy his presence. Xander and Giles don't have much to do, but their presence isn't needed in the novel. I can't wait to read the next installment. It's a slow burner of a novel and it works. This was a real page turner.

Love Buffy, but...
I LOVE Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and Angel, ...but the Unseen Trilogy books were SO boring to me. I could hardly get through them. Better to not waste the time and money on this. Buy the Long Way Home graphic novel series instead.

Buffy
I'm a late bloomer to the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But started watching the series and had to get the books.

Yay
My wife read it. I did not. I will not. I guess she liked it okay. She didn't yell at me for buying it.
