Three Men, Two Little Ladies, and a Baby
Life has dealt Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) a hard blow. A drunk driver has killed his wife and he's left to raise his three daughters on his own. Knowing he needs help, he asks his best friend Joey (Dave Coulier) and brother-in-law Jesse (John Stamos) to move into his house and help him raise his three daughters, 10 year old DJ (Candace Cameron), 5 year old Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and nine month old Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in their first role). Of course, they know nothing about raising kids, but they agree. The result is this crazy mix of fun. While all three of the guys try to figure out what they are doing, the girls deal with the changes in their lives. DJ and Stephanie have to share a room. Joey is living in an alcove in the living room. And no one knows how to cook or clean, much less change Michelle's diaper. Combine that with chicken pox, school, and some different personalities, and you have the first season of this fun sit-com.I've just recently started watching the show via reruns, and I've gotten so addicted I had to get this set. Even being relatively new, I recognized some things that were different this first season. Ok, yes, besides the 80's hair on Joey and Jesse. Compulsive cleaner Danny doesn't know how to clean here. Jesse's last name is Cochran. Joey is sleeping in the living room (something that changes in the wonderful "Joey's Place.") The only catch phrase we really hear is "Have mercy!" DJ's best friend Kimmy (Andrea Barber) is around, but only in a hand full of episodes. However, the heart of the show is still there. Not only does every problem get solved in 23 minutes, but usually with a heart to heart talk. And let me tell you, this show can tug at your heartstrings while making you laugh. Not to say the show isn't cheesy and corny at times. It's still highly entertaining.Of course, all the actors help the show. The adults do great in their roles. But it's the kids that blow me away. Both Candace Cameron and Jodie Sweetin really nail the parts. They are born actresses. Mary-Kate and Ashley are adorable as Michelle, thanks in part to the editing of the scenes and the patience of the rest of the cast. Not only does this set contain the 22 episodes from season one, but we also get some cool extras. The original unaired pilot is included. The difference is John Posey is playing the role of Danny. That's pretty much it. Even the guest stars are the same. While it feels funny watching someone else in the role, it's nice to have. There are also two interesting commentary tracks from series creator Jeff Franklin. While he spends minimal time talking about those specific episodes, he shares lots of memories of creating, casting, and filming the first season. Finally, there's a marginally interesting pop-up trivia track on "The Miracle of Thanksgiving."Like so much else that I recommend, this show was never going to be an award winner. But it is fun and entertaining, and that's all it takes to please me. If you are as easy to please as I am, you'll love this show.

Could not be happier!!
I been a big fan of Full House from the very first day of it being aired for the 1st time, I remember falling in love with John stamos when I saw him in a sitcom he was in with Jack klugman as it was cancelled but then he got the gig of Full House so had to follow him there when I saw the 1st show, I fell in love with him even more and was very glad this show stayed around for 8 seasons,Besides Jesse, my other favorite characters were Stephanie and Dj, I like Michelle, Danny and Joey but not as much as the other three, Oh yeah I also like Becky. I am 30 years old now and I've watched Full House so many times before as I used to have all the shows Taped on VCR for which they got stoled making me very depressed almost in tears as I grew up watching Full House. I then realized a year later it was on cable so ran out to get cable just to tape them all over again but then realized on Nick at night, they have cut out certain scenes so it was not the whole orginal show but taped them anyways thinking I might not ever see them again so Now that they are coming to DVD i am buying them and passing the Full house Dvd's I made down to my neice to enjoy them as I did when I was her age.Thank you for bringing the best show ever to DVD and I hope they don't space the other seasons to far apart as I am dying to get the whole collection soon. This made me the happiest person alive knowing it's finally coming to dvd!!

Not QUITE family friendly
I loved Full House and my kids have been getting into it, so I decided to check out Fuller House. I found after episode one, that I now have to watch any episodes and determine whether it is appropriate for my kids to watch. I'm at about a 50/50 so far. Don't get me wrong, it's FAR tamer than anything out there on network, but the scantily clad occasional outfits and the sexual innuendoes and references are not what I consider TV7 by any means, nor G-rated. If I didn't watch beforehand and not let them see certain episodes, they would for sure have questions on things they don't yet need to be encountered with.On a side note, I'm really tired of shows having to throw their political agenda in. Liberal or conservative I don't care, to have a reference on our president being a bad man, is tasteless in my opinion, and would never happen if our president would be liberal. Just tiresome and hypocritical, in my opinion.

As I remembered it
Full house was one of the few wholesome shows on TV. Most problems fixed within the half hour show. A story of three girls who lost their mom and are raised by their dad, uncle as well as another male friend. Its cheesy, funny and lame at times but worth all the craziness to share with another generation. I bought all the seasons and it keeps Toddlers well entertained. The only draw back is constantly hearing the song in-between shows. However its nice to watch them grow up on all the seasons and it also teaches kids that not everyone has a Mommy and Daddy at home but every family has love for each-other no matter the day to day issues of growing up.

So bad, it's good!
I bought these dvds on recommendation from a friend, but at first I really couldn't believe it. The acting is below average, the storylines border ridiculous and every episode has an extra helping of cheese. After watching the first few episodes, however, I began to look forward to the next episodes. Once you accept that it's not high-quality, Oscar worthy material, it becomes easier to settle down for some mindless entertainment. As bad as this show is, it is now one of my favorites. In conclusion, if you are expecting a show worthy of winning awards, you really are looking in the wrong place. Full House is silly, cheesy and (on the surface) absolute rubbish - but it is what it is, and when you accept that, it is brilliant mindless entertainment and, dare I say it, highly addictive viewing.
