Flextec™ Richel Large Arbour Trout Fly Fishing Reel, with Floating Fly Line & Braided Backing in size 3/5 and 6/8

This was listed as suitable for 6-8 lines however the reel is only 3 1/8 inches in diameter so is more suited to 6 weight than 8.It was supplied with a 6 weight fitted and it takes that ok with some backing (length unknown), but there wouldn't be much room for backing with an 8 weight fitted!The drag system seems ok and the adjustment knob has positive clicks so should stay at the selected setting alright.The 2 bearings provide smooth rotation and the one way clutch bearing works well.The line had a tapered leader fitted (badly) so I've changed it to a braided loop connector.If you want a lightweight reel with a 6 weight line then this is a good value for money package.

Poor quality construction, arrived with chips in the metalwork. Line of poor quality, difficult to cast and tangles easily. Furthermore, line not fitted with braided loop (as per industry standard), but tied directly onto leader. As mentioned in previous reviews, this reel is not suitable for an #8 outfit and is certainly not of a large arbour design. To add insult to injury the reel handle fell off after a couple of uses due to a loose screw, I was quoted £25 to replace these small parts. All in all a poor quality item and the worst tackle company I have had the displeasure of dealing with.
