Print & Pattern: Kids Paperback – August 13, 2013

total disclaimer: i'm obviously biased toward this book as i'm a long time fan of bowie style's blog, own her previous books and am actually featured as an artist in this latest book myself! yay! But i can assure you that i have no direct financial interest in the sale of this book.The book: this is a 300 page volume presenting over a hundred different artists or studios ranging from internationally well known artists to newcommers. Each artist/studio is represented with 2 to 4 pages showing off some of their work.This is more of a "coffee table" kind of book, focusing more on pictures than on written information, but every artist/studio is introduced with a short paragraph about his/her/their work. The print quality is excellent.And don't worry, though the title indicates a focus on children's designs, there's something here for everyone. Most of it very cute, cuddly and colourful though.If you've enjoyed bowie style's previous books this is definitely for you.

This book is really great.I have the 3 of them (Print and Pattern) and I'm enjoying this one the most.It collects the very best designers who are working in the market right now.Well done Mary Perkins!

I own the other books in this series. I love to draw cute things as a hobby (Kawaii). I am inspired by the artists featured in this book.

So much inspiration in this book! Love all the colors and designs, it really gets my creative brain in gear!

This book deserves a 5/5 because of all the amazing artwork!!! So many different styles and the photos are just FANTASTIC!

on time and as expected

The other two Print and Pattern books were fantastic. I've been in the children's apparel business for close to 40 years as a designer and a graphic artist. This book fell short of great, inspirational art.

It arrived in good condition, and it's been fun to read! I'm happy I was able to find a copy of an older book like this after only recently learning about it.

Love the whimsical style of most illustrators that's sure to catch a child's attention. Happy vibrant and cute colors abound

A book I could flick through over and over again. Makes a good reference book for various designers. I have the other books in the series and I have loved each one.

Absolut wundervolles Buch. Dient mir als große Inspirationsquelle in Sachen Farbkombinationen, Mustermix und Co.Man entdeckt tolle Designer und Illustratoren und bekommt insgesamt einfach Lust selber los zu legen.

仕事の資料として購入しましたが、基本的に各作家見開き2ページずつで、カタログ的な内容でした。作家名ABC順に掲載されており、わりと厚い本です。アラン・グレやエド･エンバリーは6ページずつほど載っていますが、これなら各作家の画集や絵本を買うほうが満足できるでしょう。いわゆる「カワイイ」ファンシーな絵も多く、個人的に好みでないものが半数で、残念ながら私には不向きな内容でした。「自分好みの未知の作家を探したい」という人はカタログとして活用できると思いますが、好きな作家や絵の好みが決まっている人には向かないかと思います。
