Awesome reading, and awesome photographs. The author really shows in this book how deep he was submerged in the experiences. A nice introduction for my trip next year :)

For those who, like me, will never be able to hike the sheer trails and brave the cold winds and rarified air of the Tibetan heights, this book is a wonderful journey, a pilgrimage among breathtaking landscapes, committed monks and solitary ascetics. The author/ photographer is himself a long time monk and an excellent guide. Do not expect erudition. The book is for the general reader. But the simple narrative and lovely images will steep the attentive reader in the cultural and spiritual riches of Tibet. I will turn the pages many a time again.
