Noise reduction on par with regular noise isolating headphones but not better
I've been using noise isolating headphones and was hoping to step up to Active Noise Cancelling headphones to further cut the noise at the gym. I primarily use them for listening to audio books. However, with the noise cancellation active, I could still hear the gym's music and could still hear stupid people who talk on their cell phones next to me on the treadmill. I'd say that the level of noise reduction is equivalent to the regular noise isolation headphones I normally use. When you plug these into your player, the mics in the headphones pick up the ambient noise and seem to amplify it. Then, you turn on active noise cancellation and it reduce the noise down to the level I mentioned above. Audio quality also seems to be similar to my regular $20 headphones, which is not bad at all.

Worth the price...
Quality wasn't all that great. The noise cancelling is ok, but I've heard better. Worth the super discounted price, I suppose. Audiophiles need not apply, of course, and you'd be better served by spending a bit more and grabbing an Audio Technica or other mid-priced brand.

Great sound and noise canceling
I have been very happy with the product and even more happy about the price! They have good sound for listening to music and also when on phone calls. The noise canceling is great and I have used it on several flights now. The noise canceling is also nice when on phone calls and really helps you hear the conversations particularly if others are on a speaker phone. They are very portable compared to my old Brookstone over the ear phones. When I was looking into new noise canceling ear phones/buds I wanted a mic so I could also use them for phone calls- these were one of the few I could find that had active noise canceling and a mic.My only two complaints with the ear buds are 1) I wish they had their own volume control, and 2) the cord that goes from the mic (which is hanging slightly below the left ear bud) to the right ear bud get kinks in it and it sometimes feels awkward under your chin. It would be nice if it were more flexible. These 2 are just annoyances though especially given the price.

Creates some noise. Microphone not good.
Removes low frequency noise. High frequency noise from a refrigerator was not removed. Leaves a low monotonic noise behind when doing noise cancellation (however not disturbing). Friends said they didn't here me quite well through it is microphone (tested with Galaxy S3).
