DS101A-White Analog Active Noise Cancelling Ear Buds

I REALLY wanted these to work. I travel a lot, and am continually annoyed by aircraft and passenger sounds. I have used noise-cancelling headphones, so I knew what can be achieved, but I really do NOT want to have to carry around something so bulky. So I thought this would be the ideal solution. When I first tried them, I thought they were completely DOA. That's how poor the ANC works. I tried every earpiece size, and finally found, with the largest pair, that I could DETECT a small reduction in background noise. I would estimate 3 dB noise reduction. This is simply not enough to bother carrying even this small accessory, keeping it charged, etc. Specifically, my Koss SPARKPLUG - Stereo In Ear Ear Plugs earbuds, which sell for 1/4 of this price, work FAR superior to this technology without even providing ANC. If you cannot obtain better response than that, what is the point of using ANC technology? I tried my best to make this a good solution, but it simply is not. I'll either stick with the Koss Spark Plugs or carry klunky cans for my head.

Not high-end device, but is an excellent product considering the price and performance. Well made and packaged very well, it makes a nice gift.
