2 mins to repair, 20 mins to dry- Best if you have help during repair
A few weeks ago in the zeal of spring, I broke my cultivator and when I looked into buying a new handle it was more than the tool itself. I was excited to find this product and see if there was any way to repair it. I was not optimistic as it gets a lot of heavy use in our clay soil, but 20 mins later I was back to gardening! There is one thing which I feel needs to be clarified: It is NOT 2 mins to use which is what the packaging seems to indicate.Yes, once the tape was wet it did not take long at all to roll it on. After it was wrapped around the break it was strong enough to hold it- so in a sense it was 'fixed' in 2 mins, but the CastTape was still very sticky and wet and the tool was not usable at all. To me a 'fix' means it can be used. If you expect to be able to use something in 2 mins, think again. The small print says cures in 5 mins. I assumed this meant it would be dry in 5 mins. Nope. In fact it was a total of 20 mins until it was no longer sticky or tacky and I felt comfortable in using it. I understand temperature and humidity will effect how fast it dries, but it was 80 degrees, sunny and no humidity. I think that is about as ideal conditions can be hoped for. In addition there was a ever so slight breeze. I guess if you have a room you can prop it up in with a space heater going it might dry sooner, but I would give yourself half an hour until the item is usable. One note: Get someone to help you. It was a little tough at the beginning holding the break together while trying to wrap the tape. It *is* sticky! Your gloves will get sticky as a result and you then get the item sticky. If someone else can hold it, you'll avoid all that.So to the pros and cons:PROS- Includes gloves so you don't need anything at all to repair your item- The gloves are a good size! I have smaller hands and normally these kinds of gloves are waayyyy too baggy and not usable, but these fit well. Not tight, but worked good. They did slip off some due to the stickiness, but didn't hinder me really at all. If your hands are really big they might not fit though.- IT WORKS! Best pro of all.- Package easy to open. I can't tell you how much it drives me nuts to have to struggle to open a package. It is a breath of fresh air to be able to just tear a package open with ease!CONS- It does not dry in 2 mins (or cure in 5) Took 20 mins to not be tacky in 80 degree weather with no humidity.- The epoxy gets on the gloves and when you switch hands that gets on the item. Not a huge deal, but did bug me. Could be avoided if you get someone to hold it for you.

Sticks to almost anything
This woven carbon fiber and epoxy resin tape can be used to repair tools, protect surfaces and fragile objects, to attach and reinforce various materials, and cover sharp edges. It is very similar to the fiberglass tape used for casting broken bones. The adhesive is activated by dipping the roll of tape in water. Cut it, dip it in the water, apply it with plenty of overlap, and mold and smooth it. Then just wait a few minutes for it to cure.Be sure to use the included gloves to prevent the epoxy from contacting skin. Spare gloves may be helpful for larger jobs, as the adhesive is very sticky.Once the epoxy hardens, the tape is very rigid, very strong, and waterproof. It can be cut with a saw or heavy shears and even sanded. It is available in rolls that are approximately 1, 2 and 4 in. wide and 40 in. long. Each roll is sealed in a pouch that is printed with the date of manufacture and the expiration date, which is three years after manufacture.CastTape provided tape for evaluation and review.
