A true quality grinder
A true quality grinder. After buying some run of the mill variations of grinders I noticed that most are a generic design and have the same flaw, the handles are made from poor materials and after a while the hole in the handle which connects it to the grinder slowly wears out until the hex-shaped hole becomes rounded, once this happens the handle can no longer turn the grinder. It's as if the handle is made of softer material than what the spindle is made of. Look for and avoid grinders with the same handles as other grinders, these are generic and usually poor quality. You'll see these being sold as coffee grinders at the same time, spice grinders, salt & pepper mills.I brought this because it had a big beefy handle and with the spline spindle design it will not wear not wear out.The burrs are also high quality ceramic (clay looking), I weigh the coffee before and after the grind and found there is no measurable wastage with this grinder. On other grinders you sometimes need to drop in an extra bean or two to compensate for wastage due some some grounds getting stuck to the walls of the grinder, not with the Gefu. The Gefu is also a faster grinder when using similar amount of grinding speed. I would say if you're looking for a quality grinder you'll need to pay about £40 and upwards.

Great job of grinding
I'm glad someone's finally put some thought into the design for a grinder. A sturdy handle, an excellent no-wear spline system to attach it to the top of the grinder, a wide range of grinding thicknesses and a neat little holder for the handle when it's not in use. Goes from virtually giving you coffee flour up to a big fat crinch cronch grind.I think the only downside, as mentioned by others, is that the slick metal body (while beautiful) doesn't give you much to hold on to while doing the turny handle thing. But a couple of small rubber bands, or a rubber jar opener ring thingy sees to that. Very happy.

Bought for a mistaken purchase of beans
Amazon's price for this was extremely good and reviews weren't too bad.I thought I'd be able to grind a packet of beans and store it in a container. Wrong! After many minutes I had produced enough powder for what the makers say is enough for four cups, leaving me with a right arm stronger than Rachel Riley's after her years of putting up the letters in Countdown.I didn't experience the difficulty in gripping the grinder that some reviewers mention, I think the protruding bit of plastic for storing the handle helps, but I do feel that the base could be larger, to help hold it more steady on a worktop. But when I had filled the container at the bottom with ground coffee I couldn't figure how to get it out!I saw no mention of it in the instructions, so I looked on YouTube where a female hand unscrews it from the metal body with the greatest of ease. Well, mine was stuck fast, it was harder than removing the lid from a new jar of pickles. Not being a great coffee connoisseur, I'll make doubly sure I buy ground next time.

Great Product
I am very happy with this grinder. I spent 3 months searching for the perfect manual coffee grinder, reading forums, watching youtube videos etc, My perfect grinder kept getting more and more expensive every time I read another review :) First Hario then timemore then comandante and finally the Kinu. This is a £24 coffee grinder -£300 less than the Kinu. It is bigger than others, has a ceramic burr, and is made of plastic inside - but does the job very well. Very stable. Good for espresso too. Well made - will last for long, I hope. Overall I am really happy with this product.

Great design, excellent functionality
If you're looking for a manual grinder that can do espresso and doesn't break the bank, I say look no further. I spent months researching grinders online and most people will tell you that you have to spend at least around 110GBP for something decent. I have found this grinder to be very consistent and grind fine enough for espresso, even too fine at lower settings, so it can definitely do the job. Of course, it does not have as much dial-in resolution as a Baratza Virtuoso, but if you're a regular person passionate about good coffee, you will be satisfied. Also it has probably the most durable handle design I've ever seen.

Promosso a pieni voti
Molto soddisfatto.

awesome manual grinder
I've used this for almost a year now daily, several times a day. No issues whatsoever so far. I've used it for filter coffee, moka, and French press and found the adjustments to fit all of these needs perfectly. If I had to come up with something negative, it can be a bit difficult to get a good grip of the grinder while grinding - I solved it by using a rubber grip band I had on a portable coffee mug, it's not a perfect fit obviously but still enables a much steadier grip. Makes me wish it had one of its own.
