I love how you get a variety of meals from just a few easy to prep foods
So far this is the only meal prep book I found that doesn't have you eating the same meal as leftovers all week. The book gives you everything you need to meal prep and makes it kind of lazy proof. It tells you the grocery list, what to prep then how to assemble your weekly menu. You get a variety of dishes for the week from those same prepped foods. I wish there were more weeks in the book and now I need one for breakfast and dinner please ^_^.The only problem I have is that the recipes are so delicious, my SO eats it all of the protein piece (ex: meatballs) in one meal and I can't save the rest for other meals in the week, haha.

Huge portions but love the method!
I bought this book because I meal prep but I find that I am often too bored of the food (especially during COVID - is anything in one's daily life not a total grind?) to finish everything I've prepared. I love that you spend about 2 hrs cooking on Sunday and you get 5 different meals out of it. I am about halfway through week 1, which is pictured in the book photos from Amazon. Really tasty and so interesting. I'm actually looking forward to my meal on Friday, since it's freshly cooked shrimp on top of my prepped foods. With all that said, I do have 2, minor, negatives that make this a 4.5 star book for me: 1) The portions are MASSIVE. And while that's terrific to have filling meals. I bought this book to help me get my eating (and weight) under control and the portions in this book are easily 2x what I would eat during a normal lunch. I could agree that I need to eat more at lunch so I don't snack so much, but like 2 cups of a lentil/rice mixture is an aggressive amount of food, when paired with meatballs, sweet potatoes and cucumbers. I threw away at least a 1/3 of each of my meals, since I live alone and already have more leftovers from this meal prep to eat. So I would actually recommend this more for a couple of light eaters because it's just too much for me to eat. I can't spend 2 hours eating my lunch every day. 2) No recommended substitutions. There are 4 main things that I don't eat: Salmon, Nori, Arugula, and Olives. And nearly all the weeks have at least 1, if not multiples, of these ingredients in them. I can figure out substitutions but it would be nice if she, as the expert, had put in a list of substitutions somewhere. And she also has a few unusual ingredients that are hard to find, or that I would never eat, aside from her recipes. Hemp seeds for instance. Since all the bulk food bins are closed down right now, I can't just get the right amount of an ingredient for a recipe. I'm not going to spend however much on hemp seeds that I would likely only use with this book. Again, not her fault but it's something to keep in mind during these times. All that being said, I definitely would recommend this book, if only to help inspire you to think of different ways to re-purpose leftovers into different meals. Also, I think this would be good for people who burn tons of calories and need this amount of fuel.

Delicious Meal Plans worth the effort
This books gives you 5 day meal plans, one week at a time. It’s called “Lunch” but it could easily be dinners that are ready when you get home. It has you prep a few protein items, a few veggies and an add-on ingredient (spiced pepitas, etc.) and then provides 5 combinations of those prepped items with a few other ingredients to make the 5 meals. So far each week has had one item that is over the top delicious and one “meal” that definitely feels like a stretch. (The green style chicken meatballs the first week have become a staple I make often. The soups are usually good but leave you wanting more). The flavors are all incredible and use combinations I wouldn’t have made without the recipes. They all have a little inspirational “flair” to them like Greek or Thai without being an overtly Greek or Thai dish. I have had some truly amazing lunches that are quick to assemble in the morning. The prep can be intimidating, so if you aren’t into doing an intense 90 minute cooking session on Sunday, it may feel overwhelming. However after making and eating the first week of food you’ll be pumped to try out the subsequent weeks.

Great book for people who are tired of boring meal-prep lunches
I initially got this book for my friend for her birthday, but ended up purchasing a copy for myself after watching her bring in the lunches she made to work. The general concept is simple - each week, the book gives you a shopping list, plus a handful of dishes, sauces, spice mixes, etc. to prep on Sunday. Then, throughout the week, you use the items you've prepped to assemble 5 different lunches from the same ingredients. I've tried to meal prep before but tend to get bored of eating the same thing every day, so this was great. The recipes are really good too, and my boyfriend and I have found ourselves re-making different meal components that we liked for other meals (the carrot ginger miso dressing and flatbreads come to mind). Each week is different and I've tried a lot of different ingredients/foods that I wouldn't normally think to eat.The only reason why I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the meals are very large! Neither my boyfriend nor I are dainty eaters, but we generally make the recipes as listed in the group and then split the servings into two Tupperwares when assembling the lunches (though we will occasionally double the protein component). If you're only cooking for one, I'd recommend halving the recipes or just assume that you'll be eating the meal for dinner as well. The other thing is that I imagine a few of the ingredients may be hard to find for some folks - luckily my boyfriend and I live close to a grocery store with an amazing bulk section so we were always able to get everything, but people in more rural areas might have to substitute for some of the more eclectic ingredients, which I'm sure would be just fine.

Delicious Simple recipes
I originally borrowed this book from the library and loved it so much I needed to own my own copy! Meal planning for simple but delicious weeks of food. I know the title is lunch but they're all amazing for dinner too. The turmeric coconut milk lentils and rice are fantastic!
