the white light works decently for about 5-10ft in front of you, the red light works for about 5 ft but the red lights battery life is 17 hours where as the white light is only 7 hours... so use it sparingly on white light as a last resort emergency back up light. however use the red light at your leisure as it last for several nights of use. I am in Law Enforcement so a long lasting battery with a solid low and high visibility light option is a must! Will see how durable it is in wet weather...... AAA batteries are cheap so also a Big plus!

I bought this for our little neighborhood dinner theater. One of the players needed to be a pretend cop, a bumbling cop really, and this was a great prop for her to reinforce her pseudo cop persona. In real life, I found it hard to put the light on the bill of my baseball cap because of the tension of the clip but, once on, I felt it wouldn't come off easily so, in real life, this would be a plus. The white light is tightly focused so it does provide good lighting for night time uses, whether it's emergency repairs or the occasional jaunt to the bathrooms while camping.

I wear this light at work. I do like how surprisingly bright they are with just one light on. Be aware of your state laws when you flash the red and blue, you might get some un-wanted attention. In my state of California, only law enforcement can use flashing red and blue lights. I normally just use the white led light. I does fit my uniform epaulet and stays on my right shoulder.

I ordered this for fishing and hunting. I used it once and it worked well. The brightness was ok and I liked the red light. I went to use it two weeks later and it would not work. I tried different batteries (new) and couldn't get it to work. They are sending a replacement. I have to return the old one; not a problem. I'm disappointed but these things happen. I will give it another try and change this review if this was a "one off" .

It became priceless after the power went out in Texas during the winter storm. Didn't have to use the light on my phone and run down the battery. Easy to clip to a hat or the strap on a purse. I couldn't believe how bright the tiny lights are. Batteries still going.

Best part of lamp is the red led light, strong enough to unhook fish and tie on flies when night fishing The white is blinding if you're on the other side, but good for prepping fires, cooking, making camp. It has a very annoying flashing blue and white strobe. Handy if you're in law enforcement and the light bar on top of your squad car is broken.

We bought this for our son who is a helicopter pilot. This will be great for his night flights. You can clip it to the bill of a ball cap, either on top or below the bill or clip to a seat belt. Nice handsfree light.
