Better to get the CoC Starter Set.
In the new Call of Cthulhu 7th edition Starter Pack is a version of this book which they use as a teaching tool. Had i known about it, I wouldn't have bought this one. Maybe this will help someone else.A good, if shorter solo adventure. If you like solo CoC, there is also Alone Against the Dark, Alone Against the Tide and Alone Against the Frost (Which is an updated version of Alone Against the Wendigo). In the picture, it's the first of the four Alone books and you can see just how much smaller it is. As the others are $15-20, this one is pretty overpriced at the time of this review.

Not bad for solo play
As far as I can tell, this solo adventure is available for free from Chaosium's website. Not bad for solo play, rather like Choose-Your-Own-Adventure with a little bit of dice rolling. You can also read this adventure aloud as a Keeper (DM or GM) to someone else. This product is a good introduction to some of the game mechanics of Call of Cthulhu, and if you're getting a group of players together who are new to Call of Cthulhu, have each person play through this on their own to gain some familiarity beforehand. But the C-Y-O-A aspect of play means a lot of content here is skipped over each play-through, and I don't know that this adventure's replayability is high enough for a single person to get through all or even most of the different scenarios. And like I said, it's free on Chaosium's site.

Almost great, recommended for solo fun
I have just played this once, and I definitely intend to replay it again (i died). It takes a few minutes to get into it but it's great at introducing rules and concepts to game mechanics and you actually feel like you have choices and your decisions matter. It gets you hooked and I would recommend to finish it on one sitting (takes about 1.5 hours, with low distractions).Only downside are some typos or seemingly missing words, at some point it asked me a skill roll but it didn't especified which; you can infer it out of context though
