Size:75ml EDP Spray Product Description Her name was Mitsouko. It means “mystery”, a mystery of tenderness and softness. She is this enigmatic, disarming and determined woman who accepts her destiny with the courage of the greatest heroines in literature. A masterpiece of balance, this mysterious perfume is made of spices and wood with subtly fruity accents. Little by little, Mitsouko evokes the assertive scent of underbrush. Its tonality is warm and sensual, it makes its presence known softly and embarks on a long story… Created especially for Guerlain loyalists, this modern sculpture doubles as a refillable spray case that reveals a glimpse of your perfume’s mystery and recalls the fine engraving of precious jewelry. Complex, brave and beautiful...
One of life's best small experiences to make the heart flutter must be to settle down on a lazy day with a new perfume, to let it waft over you as you start to get to know it and begin to understand that you will like it very much - and it will like you. I came to Mitsouko as a perfume enthusiast who'd owned a few of the Guerlain classics previously - from the more obscure Jicky to the much better known Samsara - yet despite a love of chypre and spicy florals, as one who had never tried Mitsouko. I had wanted to for a long time so finally I took the plunge and blind bought. My, what a complex fragrance. One thing that rather appeals too - along with the beauty of the bottle which certainly makes you feel you're getting a 'real, grown up' scent - is the fact that Mitsouko, meaning 'mystery' was launched in 1919 and, even in re-formulation, evokes the complexity, enigma and strange beauty of that age. Perhaps this is a flight of fancy but how imagination helps when tuning in to a fragrance, especially one of this calibre. The post WW1 world was brave and new - everything had changed. Women had changed. The elation of the cessation of war was tinged after this conflict in particular by sadness, even a spirit of insouciance that foreshadowed the era of flappers, talkies, pleasure-seeking and the Wall Street Crash. In some ways perhaps this spelled the beginning of a society in which the individual and the pleasure principle were both in the ascent after a long and bloody conflict which had involved huge parts of the globe. This is Mitsouko's message down the years. The important things in life are not the masculine, mammoth scaled, mechanistic, noise ridden abhorrences when the individual just becomes lost in a fog, disconnected from the soul. No - the importance lies in those small, unbidden occasions when the soul connects with another, when skin connects with skin and emits a pale and lovely luminescence. But it's not ethereal - it's physical. Mitsouko is bold, assertive, confident, a femme fatale yet soft, feminine and sensuous all at the same time. This is not a 'girly' perfume. It lasts well and could even work as a unisex fragrance. Enigmatic and alluring, a scent for our times, Mitsouko has endured for almost a hundred years. It will surely remain. A serious perfume with serious heritage, it's a passport to the past, the present and the future. Yes, I liked it!

Too good to be true and it is..
This was a gift for my mother, who asked straight away asked me where I purchased it. The packaging and bottle appears authentic but for an EDP, especially a Guerlain EDP, the spray has no scent not a trace of perfume.I have to agree, compared to my mothers older bottle the scent is instantly recognisable and this product bears no resemblance.

Does not smell like EDP
I would be amazed if this is eau de parfum. It might be a bottling error but a direct comparison with a bottle of EDP from another source suggests this is probably eau de toilette. Surprising because I have used this supplier before without this problem.

Mitsouko a waste of money
I have used Mitsouko since the 1960's but over recent years the formula seems to have been altered. I purchased this bottle of Eau De Parfum in February, opened it in April and by October there was virtually no fragrance left - and what there was did not resemble Mitsouko.

Product packaging and bottle unusual but contents as billed. It's been used up already!
My wife uses a lot of Mitsouko. This was well-priced and arrived in good time. The packaging was slightly different from normal and the bottle shape looked like a reproduction of an older style so, at first, I wondered if it was genuine. The contents passed the sniff-test, so no complaints. The product may have come from stock intended for a different market, or something similar, but I would use this supplier again as long as the price is right.

not genuine mitsouko
Having worn mitsouko for over 40 years I can easily recognise the fragrance from a mile - the perfume I recently purchased here is not genuine mitsouko! Need a refund so I can buy a genuine mitsouko
