If you buy this and a Gen 2 Echo Dot for $19.99 you essentially have an Echo for $54 that is portable because it has a rechargeable battery in it.1. Sound - Sound is decent, definitely passable, but I am a music lover so I was hoping for a little more from it. Similar to my Gen 3 Dot standing alone but with a little more bass.2. Volume - It's sufficient, again much louder than the Gen 2 on it's own, but not as loud as the Gen 3 Dot on it's own.3. Portability - It's nice to be able to use it without plugging it in, but I bought it more for higher quality sound not as much for traveling.3. Overall - This was a decent purchase, but I think if I were to buy something again, I might look at a different dock that is $15-$20 more and get one that has more power and a little better bass response, but was definitely worth the money.

i got this cause i'm always doing things around my house and i always have to bring alexa and the cord to the room i'm working in--so to make it simple i got the battery base..and i'm very glad that i did..it works super well and very easy to move around..the volume is great..i told my rooms mates about it and now there thinking about getting one also..

At first I loved this speaker/docking station for my echo dot, but now it won't power the dot anymore. The speaker still works through bluetooth but my dot won't turn on when it's plugged into it and it's not even a year old yet.

The sound and battery performance is ok for the price - I've had better sounding speakers for about the same price in the past, but they stopped working after a year, which is why I'm trying this unit as their replacement. So far, the performance is fine for the price.

I had a generation one echo dot that didn’t sound that good compared to the newer ones so for the cost let’s give it a try the sound is not too bad not as good as the new echoes but much better than the original sound of the echo first generation what’s great about it is that you can let it sit there plugged in on the base and use it and just unplug it and move it wherever you want to without skipping a beat And it’s always fully charged I’ve had it for about a month so far No problems the portability is incredible and the echo first generation dot will be used until it no longer works

The sound is much better than the echo dot gen 2. Great portable device for taking the music outside to the patio. It’s not a Sonos clear sound but it’s good and definitely good enough for entertainment. Looks nice, works well, very reasonably priced. Recommended.

If you are looking for away to move your DOT to different location and not have to always unplug and plug back in this is what you want. It provides great sound and a long lasting battery. My mother uses it to listen to her audio books. Its nice that she can move around and not be stuck in one location.

I should have just upgraded to an echo. I wanted to convert one of my dots into a better sounding device. This device does not come close. The sound is better, but it isn’t close to an echo. The buttons are confusing and the size makes it impractical for remote use. Buy an echo if you are looking for better sound.
