My Big Wimmelbook―Animals Around the World Board book – Illustrated, September 4, 2018

My 21 month old absolutely loves this book. The scenes are beautifully illustrated and simply packed with details that can be pointed out (find the bear, now find the polar bear, find the blue frog, find the snake in the tree, find the cat sleeping on on the car, and so on for hours on end). I was surprised to find that in addition to animals (ALL the animals - everything from farm animals to pets to all manner of more exotic creatures), there are a surprising number of other toddler-friendly things to find like vehicles, people, clothing, etc. As she is learning to identify more animals and other things, I can use the same scenes to teach new concepts (colors, directions, sizes, activities, etc.), but what I particularly like is that the pictures really lend themselves to telling stories - each page has that same guy taking pictures in a tent, someone with a motorcycle, a bird delivering a letter, and so on. Many of the people and animals are doing interesting things you can describe in different ways, which also makes "reading" the book less tedious for adults than actual books with words.I don't doubt that older kids would appreciate this book in other ways too, but at this rate our book will have fallen apart from constant use long before we find out. If I could give it 6 stars I would.

I got this for my 2 1/2 year old son who LOVES animals. I've never met another kid as obsessed with all types of animals as he is. He is especially fond of zoo animals and this looked like it would be great. There are so many things to find and see in this book. It is very bright and colorful and so fun to sit down and "read" with him. Endless opportunities of him pointing and telling me what things are and me doing the same, lots of games to be made up. I can't wait to purchase the new zoo animal book they came out with. Would recommend to anyone whose kid loves animals.

My son has loved this book since he was 2. He just turned 4 and we still read it regularly. Highly recommend this series.

Fun book with so lots of fun things to look at on each page. I was worried it would be too challenging for my 2.5 year old with the people and animals to search for are on the first page not on the pages you are looking for them on, but he was able to figure it out. Older kids can add describing what the people are doing in each scene to start telling a story. Would be a fun and engaging book for a wide variety of ages.

The best gift ever!!! My 2 y.o. son loves this book, looks at all sorts of details, we can look at and discuss with him for hours. We already have 3 books))

This book keeps our 22 month old entertained for so long. We’ve gotten so much use out of it already. Highly recommend this!

Oversize Board Book. My 15-month-old grandson recently got this and seems to love looking at it, naming animals, and many times repeating 'water splash' after the adult reader commented on the man about to fall out of a canoe on one page, so I got it for the 28-month-old in the other family with similar success. His dad bought him the construction site one as well, and that's his favorite at the moment. The idea of the books is to get children to talk about what they see, with the verbal content lengthening into longer stories about what's going on as they get holder. As long as the books are under $10, the seem worth it, but I might hesitate to spend more because there aren't that many pages and I'm not sure the interest will last long enough to get to extended stories. We'll see. The only text is on the first double page where the names and brief description of recurring characters appear.

I have bought many of these for birthday gifts. It’s perfect for 2-3 year olds! My 4 year old still loves it.

We have bought My Big Wimmelbook's for our Grandson before he turned 3. He just turned 4 and still loves these books.As his interests change we get him the book that matches.We/he have not been dissapointed. These books are well done.He'll sit with us for the longest time looking for things in these books and making up stories.
