Well thought out, easy to use
I've seen these on line and on the Food Channel for the last three (?) years (maybe a little more). Finally decided it was time to try one. I started the process like I do everything else when purchasing something of this price...off to Google and the search begins. I narrowed the hunt down to the top three reviewed brands, Yedi being one of them.Next step was to pick each brands top of the line model in the size I wanted (air fryers come in a variety of somewhat standard sizes (3.6, 5.8, 6.4 quart and some a little smaller, some a little larger). My sweet spot was the 5.5-5.8 quart. All three brands made one in the right size but that's where the differences stopped. As for the top temperature they range from 360 to 450 degrees F. Mine has a max. temp. of 400 degrees F.Other reasons I chose this particular model besides the reviews (from various site, not just Amazon) was the high temp. it can reach, as I said before it held the capacity I wanted (and by the way, if you read the on-line charts they all say that for one person you only need the 3.6 quart capacity machine; I'm glad I saw one at Wal-Mart because it was WAY too small. Food cooks best in the air fryer when you DON'T stack it to the top of the basket which is how it is usually shown in commercials and even in the cookbook that comes with it). Another reason I chose this one is that it comes with a few additional cooking supplies like a silicone muffin pan, pizza pan, counter top mat, cake pan and a metal divider for the basket that holds the food you are cooking so you can cook two things at once. Since it holds 5.8 quarts I was surprised when it came and I realized that most of the volume it holds is because the basket is deep...meaning small bottom...meaning all those extra items that come with it must fit in the basket so they are all very small. For example, the pizza pan is what they call a "deep dish" pizza pan. It is an inch deep and only six inches across (not even the size of a personal pan pizza from any fast food pizza chain). The taste is great but there just isn't much of it. The muffin holder you see makes muffins that are about an inch and a quarter each; I've had bigger "sliders" (burger) than these. Eating all of them at once was the equivalent of one good sized muffin. However, the extras that it came with were not the reason that I purchased it though, it was the volume, the top temp. it could reach and I also wanted a digital display. It has a number of timer/temp. presets that are fairly accurate but one thing the presets don't tell you is how large or small to make the pieces you are frying. One person's mouthful is another person's nibble. Getting the size right is something you just learn by trial and error. Either way, you get to eat you experiments until you find just the right size. :)The last thing, which wasn't even a consideration when I started looking was the price. I'd rather pay a little more the first time I purchase something and that way I don't have to purchase "the next size up" a second time. Which obviously saves money in the long run. Much to my surprise, this was the lowest price machine with the features I wanted. While I paid $100 as of the time of this review (2/24/20) the other machines with comparable features cost as much as $200 more (Not $200, but $200 MORE = $300.What have I made in it: of course, french fries that came out amazing (white and sweet potato fries), tiny pizzas, chicken wings (both meat and a vegan version using cauliflower), tempura (that one took a while to figure out but now I can make it without having to heat up a vat of oil and then of course figure out how to get rid of the oil afterwards - and once I figured out the proportions for the batter now I keep the dry ingredients mixed together and when I want to make it it's just a cup of prepared dry flour mixture, cup of water, a little oil in the batter and in less than 3 minutes I have tempura batter ready to go), bread rolls, a 3 lb. whole chicken, chicken breasts, thighs, wings (plain, hot, barbecued), air fried broccoli (herbs and a squirt of fresh lemon juice when it was done and the broccoli came out great - crispy on the outside, tender and moist on the inside), and a dozen other things that I make over and over again. So this particular machine does what the other machine in this size do, just for 1/2 to 1/3 the price. And a final note as to the size that I didn't complete earlier in the review. The charts state that if you are cooking for 1 or 2 people to go for the 3.whatever size air fryer. I live alone and the 5.8 quart size is really the minimum size I would recommend. Don't worry about counter space either. The difference in size in both the bottom, the sides and the height between the two different sizes (3.6-5.8 quart) at the most is an inch or two and not more. Would I recommend it, YES.

It’s fantastic
I purchased a stove that has an air fry oven. Good oven. Air fry not so much. When I received the oven, I gave my YetiAir fryer away. HUGH MISTAKE. I immediately ordered another air fryer of a different brand. SECOND MISTAKE. Third step. I ordered another YETI and I am happy again with air frying. Excellent product.

Great Customer Service, Great Product
I want to start by saying how we settled on this product out of the gazillion options out there. I check features but quickly jump to reviews and then to negative reviews. There is always someone disgruntled out there but I look for common issues cropping up across multiple reviews. In the OTHER products I found a disturbing number of 1-star reviews with two common themes, the device would just stop working and lousy customer service. When I got to this product I found great reliability and a couple of mentions of problems that were solved by responsive customer service (more about this for Yedi below). So we bought this unit.I've only used the fryer a few times so far but am as pleased as I can be. I've cooked wings twice, NY strip steaks, fries, and my wife has cooked battered mushrooms. The item has been reliable and easy to use and most of the food comes out great. The meat products had a great exterior finish that wasn't quite a char but nice all the same while giving you control over the internal cooking temps. Fries came out great with no oil. The battered mushrooms came out with more of a baked than fried finish. The unit is surprisingly easy to clean. I just drain any grease (usually not much), let it cool off, put the inner basket in the drawer, add a bit of dishwashing detergent, let it soak an hour or so, and then wash with a brush and scrubby sponge. I've never had to exert any great effort doing this. There are a couple of things to note. First, this device seems to cook faster than most recipes call for. My efforts have involved looking up recipes on the Internet and in every case our food was finished in 10-20% less time than the Internet recipes called for. But the device makes checking the food easy as it stops the heat and timer when you pull out the basket and resumes when you put it back in.Second, you only get one cooking space. It is a challenge (so far) to cook more than one thing at a time such as fries with wings. And I like hotter wings cooked with a dry seasoning applied before cooking and my wife won't tolerate having hers contaminated with my spices. However the seller plans on introducing a basket divider soon and I'll definitely add it to my unit.A major plus for this unit is the RESPONSIVE customer support. I contacted Yedi with a couple of questions about the unit and got FAST and INFORMATIVE responses directly from the company president. We have corresponded back and forth a couple of times and this is clearly a company that values its reputation. (This is how I learned about the coming basket divider.)I'd buy this as a gift without thinking about it.
