Sony SDHC memory card 16GB (with backup function) SN-BA16

I spent an hour learning about this and trying to install. I think it's more complicated than it's worth. It appears you can achieve about the same end-result by installing a plain SD card (which functions the same as stick drive) and using Windows to backup your files periodically. The advertised advantage of this Sony device is: It constantly updates the backup files when you save or delete a file on your hard drive. That sounds great! However, the disadvantage is: if you want to retrieve the backup files from the SD card, you have to go to the Sony website and download complicated software, i.e., you can't get at the files on the SD card yourself. That's a risk I do not like, i.e., is it going to work when the time comes?. Check this out at www.sony.net/memory card. If you do buy this, the (complicated) instructions I found on the Sony website and YouTube are for data recovery. For start-up, just go to the simple start-up file on the card, which provides good printed instructions. By the way, the price on Amazon is over $30. Walmart sells for about $18.

非常に便利です。自動的にバックアップを取ってくれるので安心できます。USBの差込口を変更すると使用できなくなるので困りまるということがありました。あとはなんの問題もないように思います。

自動バックアップ機能はHDの故障という，いざという時に助かる良い機能だなと感じました．つぎは３２Gサイズを購入するつもりです．ただ当初の予想とは違い，SDカードのファイルを直接編集できるわけではないので，期待はずれしないように気をつけてください．

Win8.1です。最初の接続も悪く　マークがグリーンにならないでバックアップしているのかどうかサポセンに聞きました。一時的にグリーンになってバックアップしていたようですが　１週間も持ちませんでした。（接続マークなしに）
