American Educational Introductory Rock Collection

I bought this for an upcoming science fair project for my cousin. I also bought this based on previous reviews. I can say that after receiving this rock collection. I made the right decision. The rocks are a nice size .They are not mounted so you can handle them. I did not have a problem with the rocks being labeled as some reviewers had posted. I did take a picture of the box though like some reviewers had suggested in previous posts just in case the labels did fall off. The collection comes with some nice information inserts for each rock in the collection. The collection for the cost is nice and I don't know if we will wind up using this for our science fair project because we actually have to place the rocks in water. We may just keep this collection and buy another. My cousin who is 11 loved this set.

My daughter is very into her collection. I think it is a wonderful starter collection, and I bought a book to go with it that talks about rocks....that helps too - but I would think your child would need some kind of interest to begin with.

Good sample. Has 5 rocks of each - Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic. All nice and clean rocks too. My son was excited. However it took a long time to deliver.

Ordered this rock collection for my son's 8th birthday. Received it an found it's missing a rock, as mentioned in another review. What's with the quality control? And there is no option for a replacement because it's not directly from Amazon. So now I am stuck short a gift jus before the birthday. Thanks for nothing.

we were dissapointed it didn't come with the cards it shows telling about the rocks.. it only came with a piece of paper saying the names of the rocks..

Every sample I received was hefty and sizable. Each sample was clearly numbered to match a corresponding key so you know what's what. Even the storage box was impressive. There were printed materials that described the rock cycle and other rock-related facts. I mean the value here is so great, I almost feel like I "got one over" on the seller. Would definitely recommend purchasing.

I wanted a rock collection with clearly labeled rocks of a decent size for little hands for my children. That is exactly what I got with this collection. The rock pieces were generously sized, each labeled with a reference sheet. The collection included 5 of each type of rock - a must for studying the different types. It also came with a few full color information sheets - a nice little bonus. Overall, the collection is pretty and fun, and will certainly peak the interest of children. I am very glad I went with this one.

This intro rock collection is GREAT! The samples are about two inches big and numbered. The guides enclosed are wonderfully simple and colorful! Great for any Minecraft-kid obsessed with obsidian and rocks in general.
