The Berenstain Bears Blessed are the Peacemakers (Berenstain Bears/Living Lights: A Faith Story)

I love these little Berenstain Bear books. They aren’t great quality. But I just love these bears. Maybe it is some form of nostalgia? My younger boys (2, 4, and 6) love me reading these books to them. I think they teach great character building lessons and they are cute and fun.

This is an awesome book that teaches children of all ages about being a peacekeeper. I would recommend for every family to have this book in their children collections and to read it to them while they are small and have them read it as they get older.

I thought the writing style wasn't smooth and fun to read like the usual Berentstein Bears. I thought it was strange that Sister and Brother got along with everyone and were friends with even Too-Tall and his gang. There was also too many hints of boy-girl (dating) jealousy between warring factions. Everyone was too easily provoked and eager to fight. Not good to suggest it's normal behavior. When Too-Tall got jealous again during the play, he basically said "stay away from Queenie" during a romantic scene when she played 'Juliett'. Kind of like "get away from my girl." He hopped on stage to fight, the warring factions all jumped in to fight each other. Then the parents saw their cubs fighting, they got mad and headed "for the stage to help their cubs" (I thought this was insane). I thought scripture was awkwardly placed and quoted. Afterwards, everybody got along for no apparent reason.

Got for my grandchildren. They love to hear the stories and these books have good life lessons as well.
