Great. Exactly what I wanted

Can’t go wrong with James Carey, Jeffrey Goldblum and Damon Wayans. They don’t do much talking at all in this flick but they all do their thing in their own right. Gina Davis looks amazing in this movie. If I had her body I’d never wear clothes.

EARTH GIRLS ARE EASY is one of those bad movies I purchased on DVD years ago and gladly bought and just watched again on Blu-ray. For a musical, the songs are rare and average at best. The lead actresses are generally better than the lead actors, and the comedy is mostly tiresome. The only but exceptionally good part of it is the commentary on relations between the sexes in a caricature of valley girl culture at one point in time. Representing a twilight zone between a laid-back attitude towards sexual freedom and traditional gender roles that were way out of step with reality, the aesthetic sensibility of the director seems perfectly in sync with the camera work and screenplay priorities.

Good to pass time and get a laugh

Always wanted this movie, glad to find it.

I enjoyed the color enhancements. There are a subtle differences in clarity and color. I think they could have done better. What I was disappointed in was the sound quality. Using a soundbar/ sub, I felt that dialog was low in volume and barely any bass. However, there was a difference when using my A/V Dolby Digital/ DTS HD Master Audio receiver. Unfortunately, the soundtrack was only encoded in 2 Channel DTS Master Audio. I expected an upgrade to at least DTS 5.1 Master Audio, and or Dolby Digital or Plus 5.1. Oh well.

Never mind a review of the movie. The audio is in stereo but the quality of the video/audio is one of the best I’ve seen on a blu ray of an older movie. You’ll see.

Note to all potential buyers of he version sold by HalfpriceDVDS_FBA and fulfilled by Amazon:The picture is 4:3 and has an annoying white vertical line (from top to bottom) on the left-hand side. I can't say the quality of the transfer is all that great either.I found the white line so distracting, I ended up not watching the film. A waste of twelve quid.

Doesn't play in the UK. Looking again it does say that in the add. I didn't notice when I bought it as I wasn't looking or expecting that for a DVD sold in the UK.

the dvd is a poor reproduction of the original with a number of very blurred scenes. it is such a good film, but was not an enjoyable screening for anyone seeing it for the first time.

Arrived on good time yet to watch it to report on disc quality

As good as when I first viewed it, when it came out. It could have been much better with just a little more effort. Still it's worth a view just to have a few laughs
