Bought for use as a SCUBA diver....
So most Carabiners are either just press to open or spin, spin, spin to lock. This one is a simple 90 twist and press to open. Easy to do one handed, while not looking at it. High strength, and great looking. Composition should prevent corrosion, and keep my gear securely fastened to me. Bought one initially, but once I saw how well they are made...ended up getting 5 more. Sweet and worth the $$!

Somewhat misleading, not actually rated
Was looking for a climbing carabineer, so i was pretty focused on the weight rating. But this 24kN measurement may not even mean anything because it says on the device that it wasn't rated and I'm not brave enough to test it. If they would have included "not rated for climbing" in the product description I think it would be much less misleading. I included a picture of the other side of the carabineer so you can see what I mean. Strangely all pictures of the carabineer show the opposite side only.

So many uses!!
Nice product! Extra large size, much larger than the standard Serac carabiners (not as many colors though). The auto lock is a nice feature, greatly convenient. And all this brought to you by a stand up company, with amazing communication and customer service.

The latch catches
Mine may have just been machined poorly but it catches on its self and locks in an almost closed position and I have to toy with it to get it to function.

Not a Set
These carabiners seem fine, the gate opens and closes easy. They don't come in a pair though. For carabiners sold to use with a hammock i expected a set, one for each end.

Not for climbing or safety.
It’s an expensive carabiner that’s not rated for climbing or safety. Great for hammocks and normal use. DONT USE FOR CLIMBING OR SAFETY HARNESSES! I still have it a 5 star rating cause it is well made and in the Description it doesn’t read that it’s for climbing or safety purposes. So if you want a nice carabiner that cost as much as one that is labeled and marked (so it can be used for climbing or safety purposes) this would be a nice one.. but I’d rather have one labeled since they are the same cost.

Very pleased. It is light and easy to operate one-handed, if needed. It also has a nice look to it. I've been pleased with Serac products several times now.
