Caution: Create when sober
Well, well, well, where do I even begin with the Sandy Leaf Farm Gin Making Kit? Let's just say my adventure in becoming a "master gin distiller" was a journey full of giggles, spills, and a sprinkle of citrusy chaos.Ingredients Galore:Upon opening the kit, I felt like a mad scientist ready to concoct the elixir of life. The array of ingredients was impressive, and I couldn't help but feel a little like Professor Snape in a Hogwarts potion class.Citrusy Conundrum:I dived headfirst into the "Pink & Citrus Flavour Spice Blends" – a phrase that sounded more like a magical spell than a recipe. As I poured, mixed, and swirled, I wondered if I was crafting gin or accidentally summoning a fruity ghost. The Waiting Game:After the "spell" was cast, I had to wait. Patience is not my strong suit, so I was peeking into the container every five minutes, expecting to see a genie or a citrus parade in progress. The Grand Unveiling:Finally, the moment of truth arrived. I popped the cork (I mean, lid) and took a whiff. To my surprise, it didn't smell like a laboratory disaster but rather a promising bouquet of citrus goodness.Bottoms Up...Or Not:I poured my creation into a glass, feeling like a true artisan. The first sip was like a rollercoaster of emotions – excitement, surprise, and a tinge of "Did I accidentally make a salad dressing instead?"Citrusy Chaos:The citrus flavor was there, alright. It was like a citrus orchestra jamming in my mouth – lemon, orange, grapefruit – all showing off their notes at once. I wasn't sure if I was drinking gin or auditioning for a fruit salad commercial.Gin Quest:In the end, my gin-making escapade was a hilarious adventure that left me with a newfound appreciation for actual distillers. The "Pink & Citrus Flavour Spice Blends" may have turned me into a temporary fruit whisperer, but I'll leave the serious gin-making to the pros. So, if you're looking for a gin-making kit that offers not only a good laugh but also a unique citrusy experience, the Sandy Leaf Farm Gin Making Kit might just be your ticket to a quirky evening of potion-making fun. Just be prepared for a touch of citrusy chaos that's more "zestfully" amusing than perfect. Cheers...or should I say, "Peel's" like a good time!

Excellent innovative idea
I must confess to being a little sceptical at first but still plumped for the 8 bottle kit as a present for my gin loving wife. So we are now three bottles in having done the chocolate orange, hibiscus rose and the Christmas gin. The process didn't start well as we found we were missing on of the vital botanical mixes so I emailed the sellers on a Sunday evening - and got a reply back within the hour with an apology and the missing botanicals were posted to us the next morning plus a complementary home infusion kit - mistakes do happen but it's how they are dealt with that matters and I couldn't ask for more. The kit says 2 days for the junipers and then a further 2 days for the rest of the botanicals, but my suggestion would be to at least double these times as we felt on tasting during the process that the flavours continued to enhance the longer it was left. I think if you try to do it too quickly it is going to come out still tasting a bit too much of vodka so patience is worth it. Really worth it because the flavours so far have been excellent. I blind tested the chocolate orange against Tanqueray Sevilla with family and they all picked the chocolate orange! But...........the Christmas gin....wow it was superb. We had family over for Christmas and let's just say it didn't last very long! I only wish I could buy the Christmas botanicals on their own and have it throughout the year. I hope the rest are as good but I would highly recommend this product - just remember not to rush the process.

Really interesting flavours and clear recipes.
This was a gift from our son that we had not done anything with till lockdown arrived, but once we had made our first batch of three different flavoured gins, we were away and now have a new hobby. We are real fans of craft gins and cannot believe how easy it is to create your own (and so much cheaper than buying a commercially produced one!). The instructions are clear, the amounts of botanicals are generous and even more generous is the provision of instructions how to make up your own mixes once you have used up the base mixture provided. We have since bought more supplies and have bought three more kits to give as Christmas presents to gin-loving friends. All the little bits of equipment are also provided, so no waiting needed, just buy your vodka and find a glass steeping jar and off you go. My only quibble is that the company does not seem to sell refills of the herbs. We have had to source those elsewhere but would rather have bought from the people who so brilliantly introduced us to taste heaven.

Nice kit shame the postage label was stuck to the items packaging
Bought as a gift, was delivered with the postage label attached to the product packing and not in a separate box or bag. Not ideal when bought for a gift.Does look like a nice set just a shame it was ruined as a gift by the postage label.

Recipient liked it
This was a gift so I can only rate on the recipients reaction, which was positive.

Best Gin Making Kit
I purchased this as a birthday present for my daughter and she was delighted with it, she told me about all the different flavours you could make. There’s a very in depth little book with this pack with really interesting information on creating your own flavours and how to get in touch with Sandy Leaf Farm if you need help or just have a general question or further ordering.Papa got her a bottle of vodka to get her started, as it is illegal to brew your own alcohol at home. She made chocolate orange gin first and said it was very very tasty 😋 so we are looking forward to tasting future bottles of homemade gin. Fantastic pack, well worth the money and a perfect gift for a gin fan.

Try some of the less common ones..
Just got my 3rd kit and really have enjoyed all the summery ones we’ve made. I would encourage you to try the more wintery recipes as well. The “Ho ho ho”, and “gingerbread” surprisingly are favorites and lots of fun when we were with family last December!

Easy, tastes great!
I’ve made three bottles of this so far, using the classic recipe and a pink gin/citrus combination. All have been excellent! A completed bottle makes a great gift.Kind of wondering about some of the less common recipes (some Christmas spice or cocoa combinations), but well worth it already for what I’ve made so far!

Tasty Beverages Galore
Wonderful gift for the gin lover. Just a few recipes in and I'm sincerely enjoying the different flavors. The botanicals are varied to allow for a wide range of tastes and the process is easy. I didn't use the strainer or the funnel - easier to use a coffee filter and a typical cooking funnel for a finer filtered product. The only problem? The don't sell refills of the botanicals! (Big hint Sandy Leaf - you'd sell out the store if you did!)
