Doberman Security SE-0153 Deadbolt Lock Reminder (White)

I have a family member who always forgets to lock the front door. I would always have a heart attack when I could walk into her house at any time, and the door was wide open. She told me she'd work on it by putting a post it on the door, but that didn't work.I thought about getting a smart lock like August, but I'm not sold on the security of those, and they seemed like overkill. This device had bad reviews but I decided to go for it anyway and I'm glad I did.If you're wondering how it works, it's a small sensor that takes 2 AAA batteries, and a rubber part that goes around the deadlock itself with a magnet stuck inside. The idea is that you place the sensor in such a place that when the deadbolt is locked, it senses the magnet and does not flash. When it's unlocked, the magnet isn't close enough to the sensor and it flashes. Both the sensor and the rubber magnet part have adhesive on them and seem relatively sturdy so far.Last time I came over the door was locked, and she told me that after she opened the door for a delivery she noticed the flashing and closed it! So for 10 dollars I think I really helped the problem.The only thing I would love to see on this would be an optional beeper as well - that way it would be even harder to miss. But the idea is simple, cheap, and seems to work!
