I think that this product serves its purpose although you may have to hold it down to view the condition of the ear canal. It does not hurt the ear canal when it is placed inside. Also the little one loves it because it reminds him of a flashlight that he often times gets out of the cabinet to shine the light. The additional ear tips also come in handy for different users to remain sanitary in each use. I enjoy training him to become an incredible physician! Thank you for providing a product that is safe and fun to use.

It does exactly what it's supposed to do. The magnifier and light let you see everything in the ear, ear canal and also in the nose. I like that the switch doesn't stay in an "on" position, therefore you can't forget to turn it off resulting in longer battery life. I use it almost on a daily basis and it's still running on the batteries I put in it when I received it about a month ago.

The otoscope portion of this device is of no use. I am unable to visualize a tympanic membrane. I have tried the otoscope on more than one person and discovered the only function that is clinically useful is the actual penlight (I was hoping to check ears not eyes with this tool). I was not looking for the high quality of the expensive otoscopes but if the tympanic membrane remains out of sight then I see no use in having it.

Opened it, it didn't work so I replaced the batteries. It worked. The next day I went to wrap it since it was a Christmas gift, didn't work again. I put in new batteries again figuring it must have been on all day. It worked. Delivered and opened the next day, and once again didn't work. The trouble is that the "on" switch is just the pen clip so it depresses very easily, only avoidable by taking the batteries out each time. It was cheap so I guess I shouldn't expect anything else.

This is just what we were looking for. Shines a bright light, sleek in the hand, couldn't be happier with it.

Made of plastic. Hard to keep light on. Bought for daughters doctor kit. Spend a little more and get a metal one.

For its price, it functions very well and is easy to use, easy to carry. It does everything a basic otoscope is supposed to.
