Glacier Tek Sports Cool Vest with Set of 8 Nontoxic Cooling Packs

This vest WILL NOT whisk you away to an air conditioned room... It will keep your core temperature down, reduce sweating a bit, not completely, increase energy levels in the heat, and reduce the chance of heat related illnesses.The cool packs are a bit bulky until the melt down a little. Single pack in each pocket (4) lasts about an hour (a bit more) in 90*F heat, and keeps your core cool to the touch.In hot and humid conditions there is condensation, so they’re not a bone dry solution, but a lot drier than an evaporative vest.The weight (they are not feather light) Is well distributed over your shoulders, and very comfortable. Putting ALL the cooling pads in makes the vest a little bulky, but not unwearable, and still allows for a wide range of motion.Folks with long torsos will find this rides a little higher than you’d expect, but it’s cooling your core, not your belt.I can comment on durability as I’ve only had it for a month, but it gets used 6.5 hours a day 5 days a week, and show no signs of stitching coming undone.This isn’t a very cheap solution to surviving heat, but it is effective. Just don’t expect miracles... Expect a cooler body core, which reduces stress on your body, and especially your heart.

I've needed to use several cool vests (primarily work related) and hands down this is the best. Not sure what the material is, but seems to freeze faster and last longer than other similar products. Also, I was surprised to see any negative comments (not sure what that's about) as the quality and workmanship is better than two other products I've purchased (from other companies) in the past. The "booster packs" also significantly help to prolong the "cool" duration. I've referred friends/work people and from what I've heard they are happy with the product as well.

Cooling vest works very well! Used as a landscaper in 80-95 degree weather.. absolutely helped! Keep a separate cooler on the truck with ice and water to swap out packs. The hotter it is the better the vests feels. As the solid chunks become liquid you will feel the liquid bounce around which can be annoying. It says if there's any chunks left its keeping it 60 degrees but once it becomes liquid against your body it just absorbs all the heat and becomes hot. depending on your body heat and how hot it is outside the amount of time you'll get out of it will vary!The vest comes apart and is easily washed in a basin or container with some soap and water. I wouldn't recommend machine washing the vest.Only giving 4 stars because of the lack of customer support. Bought a 2nd vest for one of my workers but he declined to wear it so I tried to return an unopened/sealed vest and gel packs but after 2 emails I got no response from the company. No way to return it.

I got this for my husband who works in a shop with no AC in Gainesville Florida. It’s registering over 100 degrees this past week outside so you know it’s hot in the body shop! This works for him and he’s not completely wrung out and exhausted at the end of the day. It makes a big difference for him and his physical stamina throughout the day.He does sweat under the vest, but it really does keep him cooled down.He said that it works really well for about the first hour, and ok for the next hour. It is better than just ice which is too cold and would be a wet mess in Florida.It is not 100% Made in USA as evidenced by these tags. But it really does work.

I'm a person at risk for heat related illnesses (have suffered from severe heat exhaustion), and I also made the choice to move to Arizona. As I write this review, we are under an excessive heat warning!I bought this vest because being able to cool myself in 110 degree weather is crucial to my being able to enjoy summers here. I figured it was going to be a canvas vest with lots of pockets for ice packs. It is a vest with lots of handy little pockets, but it isn't made of a thick material at all - it breathes really well, which is important to keep cool in the heat. It does a great job of keeping me cool while I've been moving house and have been moving in and out of extremely hot weather.I don't have any pictures yet because I've only worn it while doing work around the house, but plan on going on a hike soon and will update my review with some pictures. I would buy this again and question the company - when will you make one for dogs?

I love this vest! It's comfortable and versatile. It is such a comfortable fit, makes it a pleasure to use. I was worried about the one size fits all but the velcro makes it so comfortable and easily adjustable. The lighter-weight material is nice. It is made very well. The quality is apparent. The cooling packs last forever. One day after use, the vest was in my house and they were still partially frozen even after 24 hours. I have used it several times hiking and they were still frozen and cooling effectively after 1.5 hours in 90 degree temps. It is so nice to feel cool when it's hot. I would recommend this product to anyone looking at cooling vests!

Works as described. Stays cool 2 hours and the tubes refreez in an ice chest as they say.

I am sure your mileage may vary depending on your use-case, but I needed this to wear under my very heavy, fur covered, Krampus costume. I definitely would not have survived without this thing. After two hours, though, the packs were at body temperature and I needed to go swap them out for the other set. I don't really blame the product for this. That was the nature of my use-case. I do think I need to find some kind of active cooling process for this costume, but in a pinch, especially worn indoors, this works and I wouldn't risk wearing the costume without this vest, at minimum.
