Techko S189A Ultra Slim Pool Safety and Entry Alarm

This is exactly what we were looking for. Easy to install, does everything we wanted. No delay when opening gate unless we hit the bypass. Otherwise alarm will keep going off. Makes us feel safer with our 18month old, he can't open the gate without one of us knowing about it. At the same time, we want to be able to exit ourselves without setting off the alarm. This accomplishes both.other alarms had a 7 sec delay which we did not want because that would be enough time for him to fall in the pool!

This alarm works great. Easy to install. But only thing I don't like is that my door and the trim are not flush. So I have to put a piece of shim there to match the two parts of the switch.

Opening the door using the pass through going out is fine, but In order to place a pass through button on the outside to (re-enter the door) you’ll need to drill a hole in the wall to run the wire to plug it in.

I purchased this alarm system because we are required to have an alarm on our exterior door that leads directly to our outdoor pool. I did not install the system when it arrived. When I did install it there were issues with the unit alarm going off all the time. I called Techko support and explained the problem. They determined that I had received a faulty unit. Because the unit was purchased more than 30 days before installation, I was told that I would not be able to request a replacement through Amazon. Techko immediately sent me a new system. It arrived in a few days. I installed it and it works perfectly. We are pleased with the quality of the product and even more pleased with the quality of service from Techko.

Two of my eight units did not work. They are poorly made, cheaply constructed and not worth their high price. They do install easily and can be taken down easily after your inspection.

Advertised to sound the alarm when the door to the pool is openned, this pool safety alarm definitely does the job! It was easy to install, which took me all of 7 minutes. Most states require a decibel rating of over 80db. This pool safety alarm goes well over 100db which can be heard from anywhere in the house or outside in the yard. This was well worth the time, trouble and money to protect our precious grandkids!

We had a pool installed and wanted to make sure we met all the safety requirements for our pool company and insurance. The alarm was easy to install and very loud when it goes off. Great peace of mind.

Bought two units and one arrived defective. Because Amazon buys and stock these, neither Smarthome or Amazon would take full responsibility. If it works, it seems to do fine. I would go to Techko's web site though. You can buy it for 25 dollars and perhaps get customer service. I will not buy from Amazon again.
