Although the drive did not work, Kevin at Amicool's support reached out and was very helpful. I had already replaced the drive by then because I needed something immediately, but if I hadn't done so I believe this company would have sent a working drive and done everything they could to resolve the issue. Based on their proactive customer support I would give this drive a try if I need one in the future.

I recently purchased this external CD-ROM for my Dell computer. Unfortunately, my computer lacked an optical drive, and after a while, I was a little tired of running to my desktop computer in different rooms just to crack music CDs, then copy the torn files to the flash drive and copy them to my hypertext. In search of a cheap solution, I finally solved this drive, and I'm glad I did. They are no simpler than this device. I run Windows 10, and the drive works perfectly. I can tear down dozens of CDs without any problems, and I can stream video files from DVDs without any problems. Generally speaking, I really like the size and cost of the equipment, and the convenience of using it.

Portable and very light, I have used this easy to use device to play music and video in my lap or on a table. Never has misplayed or skipped so far. I have also installed software and never have seen a disc which wouldn't play yet. (fingers crossed) But let's be realistic: this disc player is a great bang for the buck. I doubt you can expect more in its price point and I certainly expected less. Further, I like how the attached USB folds up into the channel in the bottom, allowing the player to be carried along with my blank discs and music in my laptop shoulder bag with other devices. Overall, I strongly recommend this unit!

I don't know why I'm surprised. I plugged this pos into 4 different USB ports that I know work, because I built the computer and I have had other things plugged into them and got nothing, then eventually the message popped up.

As for DVD burn / writing, I have never used this function, so I can't prove its validity. As for CD tearing, but it has no great drive to use, I strongly recommend that if you are the art of beginners or experienced users, CD-ROM grabs.

Straight out of the package, the unit didn't even power-up when plugged into my desktop. Now I have to find packaging material and waste time to get a refund.

Great work. Except for the first time when I started my computer, I had to pull out the plug, because Windows didn't want to install it, but besides it, it was good and thin, and it was easy to hide under my desk

I only used this devise once to copy a CD. It worked well with the build-in Roxio program. For that reason I give it 5 stars.
