From The Anvil Polished Brass Art Deco Letter Plate

The letterbox looked nice on first arrival but after installation it is impossible to keep clean no matter what products or care is used. I have many brass items in my house and they clean easily but whatever they have used to make this item allows it to be heavily stained even from simple rain drops.

Beautiful quality item,solid and well made. Only gripe is that it arrived without all the screws to fit.Additionally there is no back-plate. Not sure if it should come with one..or if you buy one afterwards. Looks the part on the door though once fitted.

This is a handsome, solid brass letter plate which has a powerful spring to produce good draft exclusion. The workmanship is apparent and harks back to a former age when products like this were made to last many lifetimes. I was very impressed by the price available on Amazon which was roughly half what I could find it for direct from the manufacturer and it looks striking and more-or-less in keeping with the original 1920s front door of our home. Beiing solid unlacquered brass it does tarnish and will want a polish if you want it looking bright and shiny but this is part of the appeal to me.

Great looking letterbox cover but very tall opening needed (100mm) Now I am unable to find an internal cover to fit.
