SVL 2020867 Differential Ring and Pinion Gear Set for Ford 9.75", 4.1 Ratio

I bought this product as a used return for like half price cuz I'm completely rebuilding and upgrading the rear axle on my 2002 Lincoln navigator. I put red Kevlar clutches in the locker all new bearings and seals and went from a 3:73 gear to this 4:10 gear. The navigator is my daily and I decided to upgrade the rear axle for better towing of my 21 foot diesel inboard offshore boat. I'm going to have to assume that somebody had previously ordered this gear set and then when they got it opened the pinion gear looked at it and realized it was the wrong ratio so they sent it back. The ring gear was still sealed. The gears were securely packaged wrapped in waxed paper sealed plastic bags molded styrofoam and a cardboard box and although the cardboard box was a little rough looking and some of the styrofoam was cracked and broken the gears themselves didn't have a scratch on them. Honestly for having made a few trips the packaging didn't look too bad. The look and feel of these gears is high quality the machining looks as good as any other ring and pinion I've seen. This is by far the least expensive new ring and pinion set available for sale anywhere. This is the first automotive part I believe I have purchased that is made in India however I have a bit of experience working on Mahindra tractors and have never found them lacking in the quality department. If I have a problem with these gears I will update this review in the future.
