The first set I received wouldn’t pair with the keypad. The seller was really responsive and sent a new keypad with quick shipping. When that still didn’t pair, they sent a new lock, which did the trick. I recommend checking out the Desi website for manuals & video tutorials

We bought a new security door for our home. It’s in the US where Euro locks are rare, and smart locks that support them are even rarer. Took a plunge on the Desi Utopic R. After a couple of days, we’re pretty happy... looks great and performs as advertised. A few challenges installing but a little persistence and everything was sorted out without much drama. First important point... no documentation accompanies the smart lock so it is important to find the manuals online at the desi site (“en.desi dot com.tr”) at page: “/kategori/electronic-smart-locks-and-door-products-manuals”.A few additional things to note in deciding for (or against) this device. First, the GOOD:+ the online instructions helped a lot - definitely recommend pairing your smartphone as the master controller. Once connected, everything else is much easier.+ keypad works well. I replaced the batteries with new alkaline versions, which isn’t really necessary, but it’s a practice that I’ve learned protects expensive devices. It takes a little getting used to the activation (palm wipe), but we’ve had only solid connections and mostly immediate response each time we’ve used it. Looks good, too.+ Single and double turn support, which is a big deal when you have a Euro locking door.+ The mechanism is extendable for wider doors. I thought I’d blown it when it first looked too narrow for our door, but the Utopic adjusted easily with a few turns of the (provided) Allen key.+ The rechargeable lithium ion battery is a great idea. Keeps the device small and it’s easy to recharge without taking the lock out of commission.Some things are OK:~ the smartphone app is spartan and linking to the lock didn’t work the first few times I tried it. After methodically following the instructions, it finally worked. Some nuances, and the app could do with some design improvements, but it’s been reliable so far, and better than the two stars it has in the Apple App Store. It is Bluetooth, though, so no remote (or at-distance) lock management.~ Delivery took a couple of weeks and no tracking number was provided. An email to the seller fixed that, but I was keen to get my hands on it sooner. Probably just spoiled by Amazon.BAD things that were known, but I’d like to see them resolved as these are likely to be decision points for many buyers:- No Alexa / SmartThings / IFTTT integration. The Desi team mention plans for a hub, and I hope this comes out soon. As well as alerts, rules, and easier access, I’d like remote status monitoring and control.- Keypad only supports two codes: the master and one user, and no ability to change this via the app. I’d like to create time-limited codes for builders and guests.

If you are looking at this, then you have a European style locking cylinder and you have been looking for an electronic lock solution. And you have probably noticed that there are not many options, and the ones that do exist are generally pretty awkward. This one is great. Installation takes about two minutes, and involves the removal of just one screw. A little bit of messing around with the app to get the phone set as the master controller (Make sure you do this. Don't try and make the keypad the master) and a little bit more messing around programming the keypad. Now it works almost flawlessly. The keypad is a bit awkward, as sometimes the pressing of numbers gets missed or a number gets pressed twice. This is because it is more of a touch screen keypad rather than physical buttons. I live in a very cold climate, so I'm a little concerned about how the keypad will stand up, so time will tell. It doesn't seem very robust, but in the early days (it has been about -12 to -20 Celsius) it has held up and worked fine. One button locking, a five digit code on the keypad or a touch on the phone app to unlock = very convenient, and all an all around very nice product. Order early, as shipping from Turkey seems to take forever, and even if they tell you it ships right away, they tend to not ship for a week or more it seems.

Over all I'm very happy with the purchase. I have a Utopic R with keypad and seller had problems shipping to Australia do to the Lithium batteries, seller agreed to remove the batteries and allow me to install them here to get around the problem, they were very flexible and helpful. I also had a problem with the delayed exit locking, seems that if you have the phone app active at the time of exit it interferes with this function. Once I sorted this out with email help from seller, it is working well. It's pretty hard to find a good product for this type of European lock that's installed in my door and I am pleased to have this working well without having to carry keys any more.Regarding ease of use it is, as others have said, a bit difficult to work out but once you understand it then it works fine.

I have a multipoint lock at my house and to find a lock with a keypad that works with my door has been a pain. This lock does the trick so far. My door has a European style lock and this fit perfectly for that application. The lock is well made, it definitely looks like it will last. This model came with the keypad which is what will work best for my family. I would say the keypad looks a little cheap, Im not sure how long it will last but we will see. I also don't love that you have to put your hand to cover the keypad to get it to wake up. The hand covering makes it challenging for a little kid to operate. The instructions are not bad but you can tell they were written in another language and translated. Bottom line is the lock is quality, it does work well and has been reliable so far!

Excellent, easy to install, easy to use and configure.. the only but is that manuals are hard to find but tech service send them in a heartbeat

I bought a lock 2 months ago. It wasn't compatible with my door. Apparently your door lock needs to be euro style, which I didn't know until I actually disassembled it. I contacted the company to return it, but they refused, citing that it contained a hazardous material. However, they somehow did ship it to me in the first place. I filed an A-Z Guarantee claim with Amazon and called them about 4 times. I've gotten nowhere. I cannot comment on the quality or functionality of the product, but if you do decide to buy it, know that you are on your own.
