Feeder holding up well so far this winter.
I have two feeders with which I feed the birds and squirrels black sunflower seeds. This unit holds a good amount of seeds. My only remark is that to refill the unit I must take it down from its stand set it on the ground and unscrew the hook holding the top in place. Refill the unit every other day than screw the hook back on to rehang it.Wish there was a better and faster way.

Best feeder ever
Love it! So do the birds. I ordered this bird feeder along with a similar one in blue, and, a finch feeder. Several other reviews commented on how the birds flocked to these feeders. I was a bit skeptical. The three feeders arrived in two days. I filled them with seed -- the finch feeder with Niger thistles, the other two were filled with sunflower seeds in the side with big mesh, bird seed mix in the side with the small mesh. Hung the feeders in the usual place.A few birds checked out the feeders, nothing special. The next morning, all three feeders were covered with birds who proceeded to empty the feeders in a couple of hours. Refilled, the birds came back. Gonna cost me a fortune in bird seed!!These feeders are heavy duty, very well made, best feeders I've owned in 40 years of feeding birds.

Great feeder
Using for sunflower seeds. To keep squirrels off we put Vaseline on the pole. Wish tray and top were wider. To keep rain off and seeds birds kick out in tray.

Best bird feeder!!
This is the sturdiest bird feeder we’ve ever had and this is probably our fourth one. Each one lasts about two years and they take a beating. Ours are on a hook on a second story deck and raccoons knock it to the ground monthly. These feeders might get dents, but we’ve never had one break. They wouldn’t be easy to clean but we use sunflower hearts (whole & finely ground) and the birds eat it all. We keep it out year-round in Missouri and I hope I never need to look for a replacement.

Simple to fill
Great bird feeder ... simple to fill and delivers food adequately. Allows a lot of seed so the feeder doesn’t sway in the wind to much ... my feeder was ignore for days and now I’m wondering if seed will rise the same as beef because the birds have discovered it

Solid product
Nice and sturdy. Squirrels can’t chew thru the metal. Only negative, small ring and wide to make it difficult to hang overhead.

Very sturdy and well made
I just put the feeder up today and the birds are beginning to find it. I had a downy woodpecker that has made it his new home. It hangs well and is easy to fill. The only problem I had is on the screen side the smaller seed fell through. In the future when buying seed I will not buy any with very small seed. It is well made and should last.

I finally have Finches!
I have used several bird feeders made for niger/thistle seeds to attract Finches and for whatever reason they never worked. This one works great! Both House Finches and American Goldfinches are at the feeder all day long. The other side does black oil sunflower seeds with no problem. I originally thought his feeder would be two small but it turns out to be just about the right size, much larger and I think the seed would rot. As it is my birds empty the sunflowers side about once a week. I've had good luck with Stokes feeders in the past and look forward to several years of use out of this one.
